Nice playing Ben! Something that I picked up from Rick Graham is taking away the 2nd and 6th notes from diatonic scales (let say C major) to come up with some original note combos. Play C E F G B C for c major, but you can apply it to all the modes as well.

2025-11-20 13:43:10 +0000 UTCI'm new here. And I'm a new guitarist....less than a year. Yes, please! I came to Patreon because I thought these improv November topics were going to be something I could use, but they're not really. If after Uncle Ben's improv he choose one or two simple things he used and broke those down for us to put into our own improv, that would be fabulous! More experienced people could ignore it, or accept the challenge of an improv using the ideas given. Unfortunately I'm still too much of a beginner to get ANYTHING out of watching Ben. I'm learning guitar so I can participate, not just appreciate.

2025-11-19 17:18:02 +0000 UTCThere has been something in every one of your daily jams that has inspired, intrigued and intimated me - I love that you are doing these, but could you pick one thing - a phrase a note choice to follow a chord change or in this one the approach to moving from e minor to E lydian from each and provide tabs so there is a nugget we mere mortals can take away from the series? And if possible a link to the jam track for each. Many thanks!
