Riff writing structure is something that I don't see getting talked about nearly enough! I know a lot of people's riffs turn into big long meandering run-on sentences, and if that's you, this is a video you NEED to start writing better riffs today! We are gonna dig through the Metallica catalogue and see what we can learn from some of their most legendary riffs. Grab the TABs below, learn those structures, and jam along with me!

Maybe not technically, but a lot of Kirk's playing on those records is so full of energy and passion and creativity and it really punches you in the face. Satriani is very skilled obviously, but he has never stirred a single emotion for me, not even made me nod along.
