Thanks for the technique tip, that's awesome advice (and not so easy to master!). When you want to mute let's say the A string do you have your index covering E (and B)? Or do you tend to make it touch only the string you want to make quiet?

For me, it's even a brain twister when I play it slowly. I really have to work on this (and I WANT to!), so thank you! I always look for challenges. They mostly are the most fun. :)

I've been hoping for some Petrucci 7-string guidance for a while, particularly trying to play clean since it's a bee-atch keeping the noise down with the extra string and the wider neck. Appreciate the left hand muting technique in particular. I've been working on Bridges in the Sky for a while...notes good (from DT tab book), but playing without slop is a challenge. Please do more!!
