Patreon Bonus Lesson! How to mentally MASTER 3's and 4's!

Just for you all!!!

3's and 4's are two of the most popular and important scale sequences to know, but they can be tricky to wrap you head (and mitts) around!!! I found a way of thinking about them years ago that made them CLICK right away for me, and I know it's gonna work for you, too. Watch the video and let me know how it goes for you!!!

Thanks for all you do!

Pick noise not an issue, especially if it saves you time! Thanks for all the great videos!

Stephen

Pick noise doesn't bother me.

Jesse Radonski

sounds fine to me. its part of mashing ropes.

Michael Davis

Nope, it’s actually cool to hear it

Dollar Store Rock Star

Doesn't bother me. As long as I can hear you speak into my ear holes

John Wiest

Pick noise ain’t no problem sir

kurtis low

The only time it's annoying is when someone has the volume of the speakers seems quieter than the notes coming off the strings in the room. Your vids don't suffer this.

Shep

You don't need to filter. Make some noiiiissssseeeee. :-)

Marcoroni

No need to filter the audio.

Trey Neill

Do not filter it please, the most organic and natural sounding as we hear from our gear. Other channels become so studio like recording we can't match the tone anymore...

KOF Gear

Pick sound is real and cool.

Naddafinga

Pick noise don't bother me a bit.

Derek

Love hearing the pick. No biggie

Norm

I love the sound.

Don Vape

Agree. Sounds just fine Ben.

Paul Davis

I’m no genius, but this lesson made me think so. LOL! +1 for pick noise.

Shahar Bar

Don`t waste your time Ben , it is fine the way it is !

Horst Schinkel

Money drill! Don't sweat the audio for the technique lessons, waste of your time that could go to more content.

George Knoll

Nothing wrong with string stink Makes it real

David Brent

I'm thinking of those patterns like, "start from 1st, start from 2nd, start from 3rd..." which is essentially the same as you suggest. I just realized that this might be a good way to learn the names of the notes (which I suck at). Or maybe that is a bad idea? What is your device thoughts Sensei?

Mikael Strom

Way prefer the ambient mic - in fact, I really like being able to get that extra bit of feedback on your attack which is WAY easier to hear with all the clicking. Save yourself the time!

Cameron Bardas

Dude - your content is #1!!!! I’ve learned SO much from you over the past 3 years being your Patreon supporter. I didn’t even notice the pick noise until you pointed it out. But even then it didn’t take away from your awesome insight and instruction. It if saves you time and gets us more videos go for it!!!!

Brian Newman

Pick click / In the room sound all the way - It's just way closelier to my beloved 80's sound than "direct", 0" from amp sound.

Gaclav

Pick click away, i kinda like it

SEHK

I actually prefer the non-edited stuff because its just closer to what I am hearing in my own practice environment. If the focus is technique as opposed to demoing gear or showing an original tune, I like hearing the pick. Having said that, I also agree with previous comment in that youtube-land may prefer the edited stuff...

Joao Tavares

The pick noises give insight to how hard you are picking. Good on Patreon. I think your YouTube stuff deserves more editing to appeal to the masses.

Brisn

The pick noise is fine. The mindset of high to low works for me. I’m more relaxed and know where I’m going. With practice should come speed with accuracy. 👍🎸

Joseph DAlessandro

Super helpful way to think about chunking sequences. Thanks! As far as the click noise...doesn't bother me. One helpful thing as far as noise goes for zoom meetings and recordings is Loopback software. It is like a desktop mixer that allows you to mix any software into your meeting or recording. Cool tool..

Tim Sellsted Guitar

he is on the Amajor scale 1st position or ionian if you prefer (A B C# D E F# G#), hope it helps

Christophe

room mic is perfect for me, i definitely concentrate and enjoy more the content than the form (even if with this setup i find your sound perfect), so by the way you can enven stay in pyjamas for these lessons! you rule uncle ben!

Christophe

The pick noise is fine. Less work for uncle Ben.

Michael

Ben can you please share the 4’s 3 Note per string and the 3’s 3 note per string scales you used? (I understand the pentatonic so don’t need that one) Thanks!!

Tim Carkin

The clicking doesn’t bug me at all.

Nelson W

The pick noise makes it more real, I like it

Reg Cundy

Wow, I can use these sequences for country AND western?! The pick noise doesn't bug me at all. Keep it easy, Uncle Ben!

William Dennett

Whatever makes less work for you buddy. I'm a video editor myself so I know...

Eric James

Save your time it’s all fine UB

Darragh Miller

Room mic is fine

Randy Fluker

It didn’t bug me until you mentioned it… kidding. No worries

RJ

Save yourself the time, the ambient noise doesn’t matter. 👍

MD Ziglar

Room mic noise ain’t no thing. I wouldn’t have even thought about it if you didn’t mention it.

Scott Manning

Ty Ben this is amazing

Deep Goswami

Thank you!! This is my biggest struggle right now. I've gained speed and accuracy, now timing

Devon Ward

The room mic does sound different but it does not bother me. It actually makes it more like a one on one lesson 😁👍

John Horak

Re: Beato pick clicks : Doesn’t bug me at all I totally understand that it winds up taking more time to edit it out. Love all the content & look forward to more jamming next woodshed!!
