Patreon Devlog update 005: Completed CGs, alternate backgrounds and chapter’s final polish

Finally finished the CGs, which are going to include several variants per picture.
Alternate backgrounds
We also included alternate versions of the game’s backgrounds to indicate different times of the day.
Final Polish
Some of the things we’ve been more careful with is the staging of the characters and the timing of the conversations and interactions taking place, making sure we portray accurately the intent of the lines and different reactions. This means going line by line and setting up

For every part of the update we complete, there’s always that sorta painful moment of realization: “oh, we could have added this here”, “Dang, I feel like we’re missing a more subtle expression in this dialogue”, “I can time this dialogue better in this paragraph”, and so on and on, and so we always need to remind ourselves that micromanaging our own project is more beneficial in the long run, both for our sanity and the satisfaction of our players, that are waiting for updates to come out in a more timely fashion!
Not sure if this counts as killing our darlings, or not letting the scope of the game spiral out of control, either way as frustrating as it can be sometimes, it’s also cathartic to feel like you have a firm grip over your story hehe
