Patreon Devlog update 001: Backgrounds and sprites!

Well, this is the very first Devlog update we’ll be posting weekly (hopefully!). Since the updates are gonna be taking longer than we anticipated, we decided to start making little written updates of the stuff that’s coming up, so that you guys aren’t left in the dark and can join in the discussion of the game development as it happens!

First we got the sprites!

These are Mammut, a striped hyena that attends the same school as Taisei, and has the misfortune of knowing him since childhood, and Femi Taha, a big soft lion who works at the university as a professor and lecturer.

These two have been a delight to design and so we’re happy with how they turned out in the sprites!

Now for the backgrounds

We’ve been working on the campus gym as well as the changing rooms in it. So far we’ve got the lineart and base colors for them, as well as the layers separation, in case we want to include more stuff in the future.

Lots of equipment and space for background hunks and babes to populate them! *wink wink nudge nudge*

Working in non-destructive ways in your files is time consuming and kinda tedious at some points, but the benefit of it is that it gives you so much flexibility when it comes to making adjustments, variations, additions and corrections of all kinds that in the long run is just the better way to work on digital assets for interactive media!

On a miscellaneous note

We’re working on having an android port, as well as a Mac version of the visual novel for the subsequent releases! so look forward to that if either of those are your preferred method of furry romantic media consumption! <3

Speaking of which, what’s your preferred method of visual novel consumption? ours is PC, but it’s mostly because we’re glued to our computers most of the day :P
