The couple works fine with the kid around, when they are a family, but when it's just the two of them they're instantly awkward with each other. Whatever spark they had, it seems they've lost it a long time ago. And yet, neither one of them was made out to be the "villain" who broke the marriage up. No one was cheating, she just fell out of love with him, sometimes this unfortunately happens. And I get it, how his constant optimism, his cheery attitude and his tendency to try and solve everyone elses problems can be too much at some point. Even now he does it. He steps back when he realizes that his highschool sweetheart doesn't love him anymore. I really liked the mature way in which they portrayed the separation of Ted and his wife. Heartbreaking, but amicable and realistic. No over-the-top divorce clichรฉs...โบ๏ธ I got the feeling that by now Jamie is testing how far he can go with Ted, but I have the feeling that Ted does not give up on him so easily. It was so funny and heartwarming to see Nate let loose and jump into Teds arms cheering...๐ I love the bantering and circling around each other of Roy and Keeley, they have this special chemistry of the lead couple in a well written Rom Com. My secret favourite character by now is Higgins, he is a lovely albeit slightly awkward gentleman. It is a sweet irony of the shows writing, that they gave on of the most unassuming characters the best love life. Fun Fact: Higgins wife is portrayed by Jeremy Swifts real life wife Mary Roscoe. I really come to like your reception of this show. You laugh at different parts than me, take things serious I saw more lighthearted and notice things I dind't and likewise. I love seeing the show through your eyes...๐

Re'ying purely on comedy doesn't usually equate to staying power no matter how likeable/interesting the characters (and the actors' portrayals) are. The gut punch of pathos here made Ted Lasso appointment television for me going forward.
