Trish
Hmm? Why?
MMS
Just… run me through it one more time. Human Warlock, you said?
Trish
Yup. Well, Warlock/Bard multiclass, but mainly a Warlock. Specifically Pact of the Tome.
MMS
And you said that he’s not a Warlock by choice? What does that mean?
Trish
Oh, right, well, he gets all this vast magical power from his patron — he’s got the Fathomless patron — but he never wanted it, never asked for it, and is only using it because he has no other choice.
MMS
Uh-huh. And your background is…
Trish
I did a homebrew one, combination of Haunted One, Entertainer, and Cloistered Scholar.
MMS
Wild combo. What’s that backstory like?
Trish
Well, he was travelling with his wife when she was abducted by this otherworldly spirit thing, and now he’s trying to get her back. The problem is, the spirit thing is now his patron — it chose him to be, like, its herald.
