I've said this on Discord, but Harmony has become my second favorite character (I'm surprised she's overtaken Irv). She was already baffling before, but this season she seems like a much more interesting character to me πŸ‘€

Wowie I am late for this episode. First off, Sydney Cole Alexander killed it as Natalie this episode! The subtleties (and not-so-subtleties) of here character acting are so prominent here, especially her "get-out face" almost like she's signaling him not to say anything, and she stole the show for me this episode. Onto the Kier blackface. Giving him black Kier (still with blue eyes) as if that's something Milchick wants or would relate to is just the out of touch thing a corporation like Lumon would do. The show is definitely satirizing corporate culture and how management is so out of touch with their POC employees that their "welcoming" gestures are at best, reads as condescending and at worst, just plain racist. It's also funny how Milkchick knows firsthand how meaningless this gesture is from Lumon since he's the one in charge of giving those patronizing perks to the innies. How the tables turn... As for the repurposed security office, this was actually hinted at in Ep 1 where the blueprints showed the exact layout and said it was the security office being reused. Onto that awkward exchange in the hallways with Mark and Helly. These idiots made me laugh out loud when I first watched them. She clearly wants to experience something with Mark, but doesn't know how to initiate it, and just ends up doing a stupid smile. As for Mark, Helly was the one to initiate the kiss last time so he's probably wondering when the hell is she going to go for it. And so they just stand there like a bunch of idiots. Cobel is definitely freaked out by Helena and her driver, and ran off. Cobel presumed they didn't have a choice but to keep her on Lumon's payroll but Helena asks "Are you sure?" I believe the 'Board' decided Cobel was now expendable, and they were going to take her out, and she realized it which is why she ran. Reghabi reassuring Mark his wife is alive by saying "She was the last time I saw her" isn't that reassuring, considering it's presumed she left Lumon before the series began. And her saying "oh shit" while doing a procedure on Mark and also hitting an instrument to get it to start doesn't scream confidence. Also, "i'm better at it now." Are you?? Who are your other candidates besides Mr. Dead Petey? Or are you lying to Mark for your own motives? Either way she's a bit of a mystery still. That's all I have for this episode, can't wait for your next one!

Respectfully, I think you were putting a bit too much stock into Milchick finishing the sentence after looking at the paintings. You still came to the conclusion that I agree with (that he feels uncomfortable/disrespected by the paintings), but I don't think what word he finished the sentence with matters much, simply the fact that he did not finish because of how it made him feel.

She asked if, on the next episode, are we gonna see Mark waking up on his first day? Haaaaaaaa. Claudie , sweetie, you already know what this show is. Don't expect ANYTHING πŸ˜…. Just fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride 😁

Michael Lewis

I love the ending reintegration sequence so much you don't understand, how masterfully done oh my goddd

MAROON

"I think you overestimated your contributions and underestimated your blessings" Oooooo yeah that one huh hahaha

MAROON

I fucking love Dylan's wife, genuinely the most sensible character in the show haha

MAROON

Again, we bits and pieces of the larger picture. It seems like Dylan is under total control because of the family room, not sure if he will or not share what Irv has told him about the elevator paintings. Felicity knows more about the elevator, which is called The Exports Hall? We got terms like β€œ husbandry tanks” and the β€œmammalian’s nurturable?” At the end, when Mark is undergoing the procedure, the sand/salt circles that form look like those on Gemma’s screenshot from Cold Harbor, no?

Your enthusiasm about this show is really infectious...😊 Thoughts: This episode has such incredibly tender moments - Dylan and his wife falling in love all over again, him falling in love for the first time and her at this time finding a more likable version of her husband. Irv finally having someone to share his memories and feelings for Burt with and finally being able to process his loss in a healthy way...😊 For me it is clear by now, that this isn't Helly. I see the scene between Mark and Helena differently: I think Helena tried to act like Helly and wanted to kiss him initially but felt awkward, because she doesn't feel the same for Mark as her innie. He can't read her behaviour and gets insecure himself, so he backs out. That's my interpretation at least...πŸ€”πŸ™‚ I think Natalie is a very fascinating character. She is practically the "Saurons mouth" of this world. I go with Matt Quinn here, for a second she shows her true feelings (disgust and even fear) about these paintings to Milchick when the board ended the call. Trivia: Sydney Cole Alexander actually has heterochromia. Ms. Huang playing Big Brother on Dylan and his outies wife was so creepy...πŸ˜… Ricken is quiet insecure and thus very flattered by all the attention to his book. He doesn't get that Lumon tries to manipulate the innies source of inspiration to deliver the "right" messages. To sway Ricken I too would send the most attractive PR person I have to seduce him on as many levels as possible...πŸ€” We heard in his job interview that Dylan couldn't keep jobs for long before Lumon, that's why he took the severed job...πŸ™‚ I am not sure if Helena really planned to "off" Harmony Cobel or if she just bluffed to get her off her high horse, to show who really has the long end of the stick. But that there were maybe severe consequences waiting for her if she follows Helena was the implied message for sure...πŸ€”πŸ™ˆ As always, looking forward to the next one...🀩

That will make alot more sense in time, that interaction between Mark and Helly, threw me off too. And yes Gretchen and Dylan are very cute, brilliant acting too!

Claudie

Yes I'd heard that about Adam's mother, interesting to see how the actors process what their characters go through isn't it?

Claudie

The Mark and Helly scene where they are just giving each other nonverbal cues really throws me off πŸ˜… I’m autistic and honestly thought it was just me who had no idea what was going on here? Those paintings for Milchick were…a choice. Apparently Trammell wanted the producers to explore race within Lumon and what that would look like. When he first looks at those paintings he says so much without saying much of anything. And I just love Gretchen and Dylan..they are so sweet πŸ₯Ή

Forgot how much was packed into this episode. That scene where Mark finds out Gemma is alive always gets me. In an interview Ben Stiller said it was Adam Scotts suggestion to get out of the car at that point, because Mark probably would be feeling sick at that news. I think it made the scene more relatable and real. The Director of Photography also encouraged Ben to allow the actors to sit with the moments more, even to a point of it being uncomfortable. I think this is genius because it puts us at the edge of our seats right there with the actors. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this during your season 1 watch through but Adam actually lost his mother around the shooting of season 1. So ironically and sadly he didn't have to dig too deep for those specific crying scenes.

Christina Paz

Yes I feel so too, I think there was something malicious behind that, personally.

Claudie

Yep getting very very interesting now :)

Claudie

Thank you Matt :)

Claudie

Even the word "uppity" which Drummond used to describe Devon last episode has that connotation.

Helly R

Exactly this, the man moved a bit when Cobel looked at him and at that point she knew that they were going to RIP her

Moose

I am not a morning person.... but seeing you drop a Severance reaction first thing does spark my day. Quick note - When Cobell starts to walk towards Helena then turns the other way... I got the feeling she thought it may be a walk she didn't return from if she kept going.

yurintroubl

It's so interesting how this show can make such a commentary on race where the people that understand, truly understands what is going on while being subtle enough that annoying people won't notice.

Eric

Also, Helena meant she and Cobel could reset their negotiations. Cobel knows many secrets Lumon wants to keep from the public. Cobel walked away because she thought they were going to disappear her. I don't think I've given any spoilers. I hope not.

Matt Quinn

Yes, it's Eminence Front for the win!

Justin Odum

Some of your questions will be answered as the episodes go on. We don't know what they would have done to Harmony or why she used the word "reset", but I got the feeling that they weren't going to let her out or do something with her mind. She sensed something when she saw the man behind Helena and changed her mind.

Jennyjoy

There is so much I missed and got wrong when I first watched this. Actually, I wasn't guessing too much because I binge watched it all. But I certainly missed a lot. You're right about Natalie trying to convey she was also appalled at the pictures, but it is impossible for her to say so. At least that's my reading. When you do guess something wrong or are confused, I just smile and think "you just wait!!" Through these reactions I start getting to know your personality. Your enthusiasm and your laugh are infectious. Every upcoming episode will blow your mind, each in a different way. Enjoy.

Matt Quinn

LET'S GO all i can say can't wait for next episode
