Current update
Added 2018-12-19 20:16:18 +0000 UTCJust to let everyone know what's coming up (And what's going down.)
What's going down>>>
This week my cintiq died so I have to wait for the new one to arrive. I'm currently using my travel tablet for art, but the quality I can produce is much lower.
I can still work on layouts until I'm re-equipped.
What's coming up>>>
I'll be finished with this "unfinished comic" this month, so on Jan 1st I'll start the nominations for the next topic vote.
Question: I've been asked about months where the topic vote is skipped in favor of an incomplete comic.
Do you folks prefer shorter comics so topics get voted on every month? Or are longer comics preferred? There are pros and cons to both approaches.

Longer!

2018-12-27 01:26:11 +0000 UTCI would think each comic should have some type of ending point in mind. I ask that flexibility be applied to each comic as not to get burnt out on one subject and to take advantage of including real world events into whatever comic it fits into.

2018-12-21 23:49:14 +0000 UTCSix to eight pages seems to be your sweet spot for comics, but every so often you venture into longer ones. Whatever the page count, you make a comical sexy story out of it. I think it depends on what ideas you have. If it's a short comic, that's fine. If you have an idea for something longer, I say run with it.

2018-12-20 19:36:20 +0000 UTCI believe it depends on the plot of the comic, sometimes they're short and sometimes they're not. I don't mind if it's short or long.

2018-12-20 05:22:01 +0000 UTCI personally enjoy them both equally, but I choose the shorter Booty Comics simply for more access to variety, it being the spice of life and all.

2018-12-20 04:09:54 +0000 UTCI think both are good but I do like the long ones to be honest. But which ever is easier for you.

2018-12-20 00:38:52 +0000 UTCI prefer longer so there can be a flow to the story. It was also kinda nice when there had been that backlog for a while, seeing a variety of ideas make it through but knowing everything would be finished.

2018-12-19 22:31:12 +0000 UTCI’d say shorter, with this stipulation...if your in the flow and really enjoying it and wish to continue, just say “hey this one is really fun so I’d like to play it out further” but I also think you should set a max cap for any one idea, having the same idea played out month after month can get a bit old....and not knocking the Autobutts...but that’s a good example of a well getting close to being visited too often.

2018-12-19 22:22:58 +0000 UTCI say longer ones because it can have more dialogue and content

2018-12-19 22:11:57 +0000 UTCIn general, I'd rather have shorter ones with votes every month.

2018-12-19 22:03:22 +0000 UTCAgreed with the above that it probably depends on a project by project basis.

2018-12-19 21:55:38 +0000 UTCProbably depend on the work ... but as always as you prefer

2018-12-19 21:47:42 +0000 UTCIt'll depend on what comic your working on. Some work better as a short piece and others can take as long a s they need to. Your Transformers Prime comic is a good example of a series taking as long as it needs. I hope you have more ideas for that one, by the way.

2018-12-19 21:44:25 +0000 UTCShorter works here and there for certain topics(5-7 pagers) are cool. Doing sequels or alternate focus(ex:Titans) does work more for how the nomination and vote system works. The way Alucard x Seras was done seems ideal if you wanna go longer.

2018-12-19 21:18:43 +0000 UTCI think I prefer longer as well. There are pros and cons for both. Longer means people have to vote twice, and maybe not get a conclusion, which can be frustrating, but also that people get more of what they want. I'd generally think that if you have enough in the tank for a longer one, go for it, and if you think you don't, I wouldn't mind you telling your patrons that you'd prefer a shorter one for a given topic.

2018-12-19 21:12:14 +0000 UTCI personally prefer longer comics as I get more enjoyment out of them and the story doesn’t rush or skip parts of it
2018-12-19 21:03:57 +0000 UTCI prefer longer, where you can stretch your wings and enjoy more dialogue or entertain more positions. But I do understand why some people prefer shorter comics.

2018-12-19 20:53:21 +0000 UTCHonestly? Sometimes the long ones just feel like they're stretching out a single gag too long. That last Transformers one just went on and on. Not everyone agrees on the topic so if we don't get one we like at least if its a short one we get to move on after a month.

2018-12-19 20:47:19 +0000 UTCDo what makes sense to you as you create the scenarios, but if your really wanting an answer is like longer more I think.
Bear1018
2018-12-19 20:44:56 +0000 UTCI've personally seen you get a lot of story out of even just five pages. But all I can say is, "Follow Your Heart". I think the shorter comics will help you stay on task but sometimes the muse guides you and if it does, you go for it.

2018-12-19 20:34:08 +0000 UTCI say short

2018-12-19 20:19:56 +0000 UTCI personally vote for longer comics (though maybe not longer than 2 months long). Even if it's characters I don't like, I know the action with hot, sweaty and delicious.
