Yeah. Love that Big Brother! He's been protecting Sammy his whole life, really. Probably been playing referee between these two as well, his whole life.

Great reaction! Finally they are together as a family! You should definitely skip the 'Previously On' in Supernatural because in later episodes it basically spoils the whole episode. I have no idea why they edit them like that but yeah sometimes it gives away the twist/what kind of monster they are hunting/which character surprisingly appears.

You know what I loved about the big fight in the middle of the highway between Sam and their dad? At the end, even if it's their dad, Dean protects Sammy. He pushed Sam back, yes, but his body language showed who he was siding with - He faced his dad with Sam behind his back, basically protecting him with his actions. I love how much Dean loves his brother.

Finally! It took a while but we're finally into the meat of things. I loved this episode because John was with the boys and we get to see them working together, as well as seeing how they get along - or don't get along. The family dynamic. I'm a sucker for character stuff like this. Gives info on the character's back story, personality, reason's they are the way they are, etc. I eat it up. And seeing how John was here was a chance to see what he would have been like when the boys were growing up. Explains a lot. John meeting up with the vampires alone wasn't a very good idea. He didn't seem to think things through very well. He's lucky Sam and Dean didn't listen. It was weird that they let the other vamps go. I hadn't ever thought about that. Always seeing new things on rewatches. It really would have been nice to see more of John throughout this season. They may have originally planned for him to be there more, but the actor playing him just wasn't available much. He would just fly in right before shooting started, then zip out right after. He was super busy doing other roles that year. A salt suit is a good idea for ghosts. Wouldn't work on vampires though. I wouldn't be surprised if Vampire Diaries, and other Supernatural type shows, took ideas from this one. But SPN is different enough that they couldn't have taken much. SPN just tends to have a different spin on everything. This show was a stand out back in 2005. Not much like it on TV then. Which was a big reason I liked it so much. I've seen a lot of similarities between this show and the X-Files. Not that the X-Files was supernatural, but that there were a lot of similar story types. Just in SPN it ended up being a supernatural thing, in X-Files it was more human monsters, human genetic oddities, etc. Both shows also has some of the same writers and directors. The new show Wynonna Earp has a demon killing gun. I wonder if they took that idea from this show. Not much else is similar between the shows though. Cool little factoids for ya.
