It is pretty ridiculous. Some buses spend like 125000 dollars in total. It has to be said though that outside the biggest cities people don’t do this often. People get a red van that fits 7-8 people and pimp it out a bit for a fraction of the cost of a bus.

Because Norway is the richest country in the world, with expensive traditions, unlike Sweden, the poor neighbour in the east. We have to settle with renting a truck on the day of graduation, which we decorate with green leafs (from the nature=cheep). Then drive around for an hour or two dancing on the platform. 😊

It IS ridiculous! And it has gotten out of hand in the last decade or so. The kids will spend so much money to pump up their buses with over the top sound systems and whatnot. It is mostly a thing in Oslo but it is slowly spreading to other towns. On the plus side, they do get to re-sell them to the next years Russ, like Mari and her crew are doing, so they should get most of their money back. Plus, it’s a means of transport with a proper, sober driver. Our squad have only got the money they got from the toilet paper sale in season 1 so it’s not much as a down payment 😜

this tradition is ridiculous... just to party in?? wtf?? that is so much money! and people pay this? even with 20+ girls... $2000 if more than I'd be willing to pay for a freaking party bus, especially with how much freedom kids there seem to have... just party in your homes like you do anyway. I like the idea of camping out and partying as a graduating class for a period of time, but I imagine an American version would literally be tents and that would be the best part.

300 000 NOK is ca $ 40 000. Which is probably the standard rate for a russ bus but arguably a lot of money for five girls in school. 😂
