In Felix original reality, he and Jess are kind of the acquaintance level of friendship as in they are working on a group project together and Jess is helping Felix out with a problem. But they definitely aren't "hang out together" friends.

Just buy her ice cream and let her know her friends are there for her. Rebound relationships usually end badly.
