Could also be a world thing she was a female elf as her idealized form, she used her power to try and make the female part permanent but there's no "elf" in this world in a DND sense so she got permanent female and a change to "elf" in her worlds sense. Dave and Toby went from human male to human female while she went from human male to elf female then tried using magic she wasn't sure of to make the female part permanent as you said retaining magic and hints of non-human nature.

2022-02-20 15:05:15 +0000 UTC...I'm guessing that shop owner might have been one of these malcontents - or at least the one who created the plant. Also I'm thinking that maybe this is how Berry does what it does - changes person's physical form to that of Fae while raising a glamour which shows what person most desires... Hoping that Robin learns to see through the glamour, then we can put that theory in to test - to see if twins really are twins ;)
