Early Access: why i look at writer credits

sharing with y'all the early release to this Sunday's video - the mind child of a community poll born from my lack of interest with season 3 of The Bear.

since I uploaded straight to patreon, i'm linking the mentioned videos below but the youtube version will have the cards - should you feel so inclined to watch this on two platforms:

the only thing i know about the UK model is that shorter seasons were more common earlier/seems like a choice less affected by the increase in streaming options. it'd be interesting to know of any big differences you find! EDIT: a brief google search pulled up this article -- it sounds like UK TV writing has adapted to an American model more recently and older UK television functioned more like feature writing (ie. sitting alone and trying to crank something out before sending it in for notes). i wonder if that means older shows have fewer writers? almost swapping structures maybe https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2020/oct/21/the-room-where-it-happens-why-writers-rooms-make-for-great-tv

This was a really interesting video, I think the only time I've considered tonal shifts is with change of show runner for Dr Who. I don't know how similar the US model is to older shows from the UK but it makes me want to look at it again. I just watched an interview of Quinta Brunson at the Paley Center talking about Abbott Elementary and it's made me want to do a re-watch considering changes in the writers' room.
