Introducing Ill Conceived, a podcast about natalism

Over the past month I've been working with June Sternbach of Western Kabuki to develop a new podcast about natalism—the ideology that sees declining birthrates as the most important issue in modern American politics—and how it's a skeleton key to understanding both the MAGA movement and reactionary conservatism more broadly. We'll be releasing new episodes every Friday, starting on June 20.
Those of you who follow TWOAPW for analysis of current events, particularly on the evangelical Christian side of things, will find a lot to be interested in here. Our pilot episode will talk about the Promise Keepers, the evangelical men's organization that enjoyed a brief moment of national popularity in the 90s and has since become a rudderless MAGA satellite.

Also just discovered “liberty lost” on Wondery; liberty fucking University still is running a “home” (Liberty Godparent Home) for underage pregnant mothers and exchanging room and board and full rides to LU to adopt out their babies to “more deserving” families (ya know, cause it’s illegal to outright buy babies). I’m one episode in and had to share; cannot believe a program like this exists in 2025….oh wait, yes I can. Thought this might be useful for any upcoming examinations of evangelical purity culture and how fucking good it is at focusing on the GD family.
