75 - Gomorrah? I Hardly Know ’Er! (feat. Colby Day) [Whit’s Endless Summer #21]

Colby Day (@thecolbyday) is thrown into The Room of Consequences as he and the lads return to Odyssey for Adventures in Sodom, Gomorrah, and the most sinful place of all: the theater. Topics include the big swings of Phil Lollar, the camp perfection of Edwin Blackgaard, and the paramount importance of keeping art weird.

75 - Gomorrah? I Hardly Know ’Er! (feat. Colby Day) [Whit’s Endless Summer #21]

Comments

Listening to the recap of A Class Act and I'm once again getting frustrated with AiO because it's Almost a good kids show and so often totally fumbles the ball at the end

Lenny

That cauliflower brain ‘joke’ has the feel of another stolen PG Woodhouse bit

PigeonTom

Edwin Blackguard is like the one normal person in Odyssey.

John Her

I don’t remember leaving this comment but I stand by it

LogalogJack

Kinda fucked-up that Whit would program Laurence to scare Jimmy in the treehouse—the treehouse where Jimmy famously fell out and *nearly died*.

LogalogJack

Just subbed and have been listening thru the premium Odyssey eps, really enjoyed this one! Got big Spongebob "Band Geeks" energy from A Class Act

Thom Coté

Odyssey has some ridiculous things on it sometimes that makes my skin crawl, but I seriously love Edwin Blackguard

Elizabeth Power

I think the cauliflower line might be ripped directly from Blackadder?

Virginia Paine

this applies to both the RoC bit and the Raccoon bit

You know it's a good TWOAPW episode when the ad makes you go "ah! man-made horrors beyond my comprehension :)"

Eliza Jay Writes

Whit in the room of consequences sounds like AM from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream

Alex

I think the kill bill Bible story is the story of Jail

Rosey Armstrong

I’m fascinated by this guy whose middle eastern accent is just rolling his r’s

Aysha U. Farah

The combo of checked-out Josh and chiptune Herb Alpert for the ad break fakeout was 🤌🤌🤌

Elah

In retrospect I am glad the only RoC episode I heard as a child was the one where a kid gets to hear what other people "really" think and discovers that no one ever means it when they complement her. That fucked me up plenty, I can only imagine how wrecked I would've been by the pure uncut Calvinist Total Depravity bullshit of Whit telling Jimmy "you need me to do right but you'll do wrong by nature"

Elah

Gomorrahmy is when two theaters make their ends meet

Jimmy McMillan

That room of consequences episode was hilariously week sauce. I remember an episode in the R of C were a kids parents decided to start parenting him like libs and let him do whatever he wanted. The kid turned into a deranged sociopath in a couple of weeks and I think people died in the end

Jimmy McMillan

Would it not be Gomorrahmy? And am I not doing it right now?

im so daddy i havent slept in a year

Over 2 hours, we are surely blessed 🙏

im so daddy i havent slept in a year

woooooo hooooo! going back to this deranged town

Antho

oh god i definitely heard into temptation when i used to listen as a kid. i remember it feeling like the highest stakes story ever to me lmao

LarcenyOctober

I'm getting such a nostalgia high listening to clips of On Solid Ground. I forget just how deep these episodes are buried in my brain. I already anticipate hearing the Sodomites yelling "Open up the door, Lot" in that deeply disturbed voice
