Holy shit, I LIVED through a church where the pastor started questioning the existence of hell, the church shrank and shrank, going from huge to tiny. So many angry people. And then finally allowing myself to question my beliefs on religion and politics, eventually realizing I mostly hated everything I had been raised to just accept as "the truth." Now the older I get the more angry I get at it, the more I realize it was all a cult relying on keeping people locked in a cycle of guilt and forgiveness to continue its existence.
