LIVE PAINTING SESSION on TWITCH!!! Today, November 12th, 8pm GMT π βΆ https://www.twitch.tv/marcofrisoninjm
Trying to synchronize with the imminent launch of Zabaart Kickstarter (next Thursdays!)π https://tinyurl.com/TreasuresKickstarter tonight we'll work on the scenic base and all the micro details that no one sees, but that keep me awake at night (compulsive mini painter mind at its best... or worst π
). See you later for another chatty paint night π
Since time was becoming a concern (Lukas told me that my Octopus would have been in the Kickstarter, literally, during one of the first streams lol so I didn't make plans for a deadline!)
I've built the scenic base for tonight's stream.
Nothing fancy or too complicated: a plasticard base that matches the 8by8cm of the plinth, a main mass made of air drying clay (the round rocks are also made with air drying clay), and pirate/beach themed bits, all covered by a generous amount of AK sand paste that works waaaaay better for this scale than for gaming minis size. On the left side (the one with treasure chest) there will be "water (I have a fresh batch of UV resin to try) so I kept it a bit more open and light on details.
On the bottom of the plinth I have a chunky 8mmx3cm wood insert (that needs an actual hole of 12mm) so I can screw the whole thing to my carry/storage/shipping boxes with a big bolt, and on top, 3 small pins to keep the scenic base aligned with the perimeter and a solid 3mm brass rod that keeps the model in place locking everything with its pinch.
The rain stopped for a second so I just primed the topper with a gloss black spray can as foundation for the moonlit night of the scene!
See you later <3!
ps: I didn't change the tones on the Octopus! The camera on my phone makes the saturation of red and orange tones explode!
