NEW TOOLS! & Revamping the old ones!

No sponsors, no pushes, no strings attached (but I had to collect a few years' worth of overdue Christmas presents for this loot lol):
just a bunch of new tools (and in the case of Liquitex Heavy Body tubes a newfound appreciation) which I felt I needed in this phase of my painting journey and that you'll see pop out from the videos in the very next future!
Since you are the "insiders" I thought you may be curious about the reasons of this investment, that can maybe help you with YOUR Christmas gifts!

You know that especially in the past year I radicalised the idea that, for paints and tools, Art Stores consistently beat Model/Game Shops and this is kind of the peak of a long term practical exploration of that epiphany.
There are many features of art store paints that we can compare with high quality modelling brands and of which we can debate but there is one aspect that is always objectively superior:
tested and proved on international standardised parameters and shown on the labels, long-term lightfastness!
I recently had the chance to see not so old award winning models with faded and washed out finishes because of the weak formulation of the paints used and that... that scared me to death!!!
I'm trying to do art here and a big part of my hopes for the future is that this strange min art will be able to survive at least until I'm alive and ideally a bit more lol: that's one of the main reasons for this full jump into high quality classic artist tools that started with the Acrylic Gouache.
And as a bonus you get amazing paints XD!
It's really important for me to clarify that with this I don't mean that you should throw away your model paints (if they work for you, great!) especially the good ones like Kimera, but that you should be conscious of what you want or need from your tools and consciously invest based on those needs!

About the airbrush, an Iwata Custom Micron CM-B (V2), since I'm moving more and more in the two apparently opposite directions of high quality display painting AND high quality speed painting I was feeling the need of an airbrush even more focused on super small, super precise applications than my Iwata HB-BH that, as I often say, it's an incredible beast... but a beast, and a beast that needs to be constantly tamed!
I hope that having something by its own built completely dedicated to micro details will help me ease, speed up and increase even more the quality of my work on the smallest steps.
Why not a cheaper H&S Infinity? I have one and I personally hate it XD. I feel that, for what I do, the trigger is extremely unreliable and for a machine made for details that's not acceptable (I was able to test a few different Infinity, not only mine, and that's an issue that I found in each one of them!);
since Iwata never betrayed me, I stayed with the brand ;).

Soon you'll get a more technical review of every tool but now you know some of the why, on a conceptual level, I'm constantly trying new stuff and options!

Have a great weekend!!!
