August Minipod Voting!
Added 2022-08-17 14:00:36 +0000 UTCIn case you missed it, here's an explanation of what is happening, if you already know, then skip ahead!
---Every month we will be asking our supporters what you would like one of our editors to explain. Whether it’s something in the news today or something from the distant past (the year 1990? just kidding!), we will put together a mini podcast episode to explore it. These exclusive episodes will be 15 to 20 minutes long so you can get the background on the important issues over your morning coffee or on your drive home. This month everyone can submit a topic and vote, but in the future topic submission will be exclusive to "Material Supporters" and up, and voting will be exclusive to "Conspiracy to Commit Material Support" and up.---
Thank you so much for everyone's submissions! We took almost all of them* and put them below and put it below. Please vote for as many as you like!
(*There were a few we don't have someone in the office to currently answer on the topic, we put in an extra option for fun and hope that makes up for it).
Comments
If we're going to talk about the "Value of foreign aid...", I'd love to hear about the continuous announcements of programs to compete with the Chinese Belt and Road initiative. It seems like these programs (Build Back Better World, Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, Global Gateway, International Finance Development Corporation creation and Export-Import Bank expansion) get announced, but it's very difficult to follow whether these programs actually come to fruition.
