Brian Brecommends: SUMO WRESTLING
Added 2024-04-11 22:37:45 +0000 UTCI have already ignored my rule of only recording for 10 minutes/editing for 50 minutes because I am simply TOO EXCITED ABOUT SUMO. I LOVE SUMO. SUMO IS PROBABLY 80% OF WHAT I THINK ABOUT ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS. It's been so great to completely lose myself in a sport that I didn't know a single thing about at the beginning of this year.
Thanks for all your questions this time around! I realize they're mostly about Dropout (I promise I won't only talk about that in the future, since it requires a different subscription!), but it's great that you all seem to enjoy the shows over there! As always, please send any questions you have for me through the community tab chat, right here.
Hopefully, there will be a new video uploaded here in the next week or so! I'm hard at work on 2-3 videos at the moment, but FROGHORN.EXE is nearly done. I hope you enjoy it as much as I'm enjoying making it. Blender is a fun program.

Thanks for the channel recommendation! I love podcasts, but I find if I don't have something to keep my eyes focused on then I zone out. Most of the time I end up watching Korean bakery/factory cooking videos, or videos of walking city tours with the sound off (and subtitles if available). I feel like this might become a new obsession.
Oddity
2024-04-13 19:37:31 +0000 UTCI would have dug this tbh - while I’m glad myself and Brian did get to meet, I would have trusted the enforcers’ judgement on that one had they deemed it necessary at the time. As it was, they wrapped the meeting line around one of the larger pocket areas in the corridor by the escalators as a compromise.

2024-04-13 06:35:48 +0000 UTCI think "Be fans, not fire hazards" would make an effective crowd dispersing sign--especially if it's not clear it's frowned upon.

2024-04-13 01:29:54 +0000 UTCNote on the yokozuna rank - it's not limited to one person at once - there have been times with no yokozunas, and there have been times with up to 4 at once. Also, MidnightSumo on twitch streams sumo matches regularly (although they haven't been streaming as much recently). And there are some good sumo video essayists on youtube.

2024-04-12 13:08:54 +0000 UTCYou’s telling me that you was bein’ *miscreants* at PAX? And that I was an *accessory* to mischief? The scandal! But for real, thanks for the brecommendation! Sumo is something I indeed know almost nothing about but it’s fun to hear you get so passionate about it. Thanks for answering my wee question!

2024-04-12 05:36:10 +0000 UTCp.s. you are the best judge of your own tolerances but i hope that if the balance between fun-to-meet-people and oh-no-crowds ever tips too far, you won't let anybody (even your own sense of obligation) push you into going to cons/etc if you actually don't want to. take care of yourself!

2024-04-11 23:15:12 +0000 UTCholy moly i LOVE it when somebody seat-of-the-pantses an intricate presentation about something they recently got into. there is nothing like an insatiable enthusiasm. i woulda been sad if you had cut this down to 10.
