BONUS VIDEO: Scam Slam Jam

Hey y'all! Remember how I said I wasn't going to post a video on YouTube until July? A new terrible development changed that!

You might have seen me talking about this/making this song on my Watch This While You Do Your Art stream a couple weeks ago, but I've had a couple different people message and say that someone claiming to be me has sent them a DM on Discord, and checking if it's actually me. It's not! 

Same goes for TikTok: there's someone reuploading my stuff as me, and people think they're actually interacting with me, but they're not! And it's very frustrating that I can't actively take down any of those imposter accounts simply because I don't use either platform. 

So this video is meant mostly as a quick PSA to avoid scammers like that. I'll be posting this as my description/caption on the videos:

I've had a few people message me to say that someone is pretending to be me on Discord and TikTok. I am not on Discord OR TikTok! Unfortunately, scammers are more and more likely to use "approachable" parasocial celebrities in order to take advantage of you. Be cautious of anyone claiming to be someone that you admire on the internet. It's easy to tell it's a scam if "George Clooney" slides into my DMs (even though I really hope he does), but it's much harder to catch if the scammer is claiming to be a niche internet microceleb. So here's my (somewhat harsh) promise: I will never DM you. Heck, I barely text my own friends! Sorry about that, real-life friends. Please please please be wary of scammers on the internet, especially as AI becomes more prevalent. Stay safe out there!

I rushed to finish this video in order to warn people about these sorts of scams, so it's just a silly PSA that doesn't include any credits or bloopers! But I also put in a little more effort than I was expecting, so hopefully it's still enjoyable on it's own! 

It'll go up on my Instagram and YouTube tomorrow, and this is one of those videos that will probably look better there, because I designed it to loop. I'm pretty proud of that loop.
