July Progress Report

Heyoooooooo it's the end of July! I'm writing this in a Toyota maintenance waiting area. Let's talk about what I've been up to.

WHAT'S UP ON PATREON?

Here are the Patreon posts from this month:

- July Livestream Info!
-
CRAFT STREAM! | July Goofy Livestream
-
Finishing up the Collab | July Process Stream
-
sneak preview of the collab video!

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?

That pic at the top of the post is from the collab with Tom Cardy. As you can tell by the screenshot, it's a very normal and good video.

The video is mostly done, except for some final tweaks on the song and a subtitles pass which I'm currently baking into the video. But it's mostly there! As previously stated, it'll most likely be premiering at a festival sometime this fall, so you'll have to hold on a little longer for it to get published on my channel, but I put a sneak preview of the intro up for the Bold Donation Goofuses.

With that mostly sorted, I've been writing and rewriting some bits for this horror short I keep referencing. I haven't fully cracked it, but it's getting there, and I'm giving myself the time to make sure I really like it before hopping into production

Outside of that, I've continued to be abnormally busy with Thing I Can't Talk About. But Thing I Can't Talk About just wrapped up last Friday, so now I'm normal busy!

WHAT AM I UP TO NEXT?

Now that my schedule is back to normal busy, I'm throwing myself into the horror short script. I also have three lil weirdo vid ideas that I'm picking up in the lulls of the horror script. For now, I will codename those:

- dream raccoon
- embroidered menace
- chaka khan

My favorite way to procrastinate on big projects is to work on smaller projects. Don't know when/if any of those lil weirdo vids will come out, but whenever I'm fed up with the horror short, I'll hop into those ones for a bit.

I have a couple other projects on the horizon, like the thing with Dropout, but that's currently paused while they apply for an interim SAG agreement! The WGA/SAG double strike is in full effect, and it doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon.

WHAT ELSE HAVE I BEEN DOING?

I've been spending the little free time I have on new hobbies, like sewing (hence the craft stream). I finally finished my first project, which is a wearable version of the Bokoblin Mask from Breath of the Wild! Here's a pic:

I've been having fun running around my house like a bokoblin. When I'm not, the mask just hangs on a banister like a cute version of Lord of the Flies:

Don't know what the next project will be, but it's been super fun to get back into a hobby I can't monetize! Although, technically, I am posting the hobby on my Patreon. So I guess it's slightly monetized. But what I'm saying is I'm not going to become a professional seamster anytime soon. It's just fun to make things with my hands.

THAT'S IT FOR NOW

Hope you all have a lovely start to August. I'm gonna try to get a video out in August 'cause it's been way too long. We'll see how it goes!

That mask is amazing! Can't believe it's the first thing you've made. Excellent work

Bokobzlebub, if you will. Looks great, and glad the projects are going well!

Well-Spoken Rambler

That hat is amazing!

Robert Lloyd

holy shit that bokoblin mask is so good dude! Incredible work!

Cinnamon Shakes

very glad to hear Dropout is planning to go the A24 route and pursue an interim SAG agreement, so i'll be able to continue supporting their great shows & their actors/staff can stay employed without scabbing! With Adam Conover involved I guess that was a foregone conclusion but still!!

Rachel Maksy/BDG zelda cosplay craft crossover needs to happen imho

Reminds me of the artist joke where people will say "drawers" (draw-ers, like people who draw) and artists make puns about being drawers like a chest of drawers 😂

Luna

Aww the mask came out so cute 🥺 Sad I missed that stream!

Luna

I'm excited to hear more about these upcoming projects, and the mask turned out amazing!

Karis

“Seamster” is excellent. I also like Great British Sewing Bee’s “sewers” (sow-ers) which of course when they say aloud I involuntarily echo back as “sewers” (soo-ers) as in the pipe filled with sewage. This is wordplay (generous) that does not really work aloud *or* in writing!

supercres

Love those big beautiful button eyes!

Dapper Gent

The bokoblin mask is outstanding!! Did you follow a pattern or come up with the design yourself?

Brian Slattery

I love good and normal videos, I'm excited to see the collab. Yay, hooray for getting into sewing!! As someone who sews professionally I can honestly say that looks really gotdamn good for a beginner! Especially the teeth, and that very even topstitching! (If you ever want to do 18th century tailoring, message me and I will infodump gleefully)

Vincent Briggs

the bokoblin mask is amazing!! I love it so much

Candy Emberley

I would be wearing that bokoblin mask all around town. Not just my apartment if I made one lol. It's basically what I do with the Splatoon squid hat I made xD

Emily Collins

rionsanura
