as a result, i don't have much in the way of BTS vids or bloopers. so instead, i thought i'd walk you through the entire process of how i made this video, from idea to lyrics to music to filming to editing!

considering how this is a ~48 minute video discussing the making of a ~2 minute video, there was a lot on my mind while making it. i hope some of you enjoy the insight into my process, or at least insight into my ability to talk in a inefficient manner about my process!

its really interesting to find out that you didnt intend for it to be as deep as it turned out to be, i feel like the journey of making it fits really well with the progression of the song. when i saw it in my feed and clicked on it i did expect it to be something silly but it really dug into a way ive been feeling for a while, wishing i could physically be a certain way without being comprehended a certain way by myself and other people. its a song that means a lot to me and its so cool hearing about the narrative constructed in the visuals. ive never heard about data moshing, that was really cool to learn abt

I know basically nothing about video editing, but it's still really cool seeing all the steps and the little details that go into creating something like this. Love the theme of the song, too! The line "I wish that I could wear hats without looking any way at all" reminds me of how I get uncomfortable when I remember that basically everyone I know has noticed something about my appearance (otherwise they wouldn't recognize me when they see me) - not quite the same topic as this video, but related maybe? I just want to not look any way at all (hats or no hats).

The way I usually consume videos is by listening & half watching while working on hand sewing, so I'm happy to listen to any amount of rambling. Also, my father made Pepcorn yesterday and said it was very good.

2022-03-08 02:06:25 +0000 UTCreally loved both the video and the BTS - it's fun to see people explain with purpose things they do intentionally that I think I do subconsciously (lyrics) and also things that I have ZERO idea how to do (any video editing ever)! and the video itself REALLY resonated with me, as well. being perceived is... frustrating, to say the least. I hope putting words/video to this helps alleviate some of its weight on you! all in all a very nice thing to get on my birthday so thank you very much :)

I also really resonate with the song's themes, as someone who is both self-conscious about my appearance and of sharing creative projects of my own. Thanks for being willing to spend an hour filming this for us :)
