July stream deets + a note about credits
Added 2021-07-07 16:16:06 +0000 UTCFINALLY, WE WILL HAVE A GUNPLA STREAM.
***** SATURDAY, JULY 17 *****
********** 12 PM EST **********
WE BUILD A TINY BIG ROBOT
You can choose the one we build in the poll at the bottom. Normally this poll would be for what we do in next month's goofy stream, but GUESS WHAT: IT'S GONNA BE AUGUST. WHICH MEANS IT'LL BE TIME FOR ANOTHER THIRDLY REPORT. Holy moly, how are we almost 2/3rds of the way through 2021? We'll grill more meats and do another long Q&A, so get ready for that.
ONE OTHER PIECE OF BUSINESS TO TALK ABOUT:
Usually, Jorts Enthusiasts get a credits scroll at the end of each video. The amazing part of this is that I can't get the scroll to be any shorter than ~20 seconds without it becoming way too fast to be able to read any names.
This is a great problem to have, but it's extremely difficult to fit the credits into some of the shorties that I'm making. Luckily, tomorrow's Rollerblading shorty ended up being a longy instead, so I could fit the credits in, no problem. But for some of the other ones that are less than one minute, the credits would be nearly as long as the video itself, which is a little strange.
SO HERE'S MY COMPROMISE: If a video is longer than "we like watching birds" (which is ~1:30 of actual video), then I will put the credits at the end. If it's shorter than that, I'll put a little "thanks to my top patrons (link in the description)" and then I'll link to a devoted webpage on my website (kind of like the ice cream one) that lists all of the names of everyone who was a Jorts Enthusiast at the time of publishing the video.
Anyway, this will only go into effect for the next shorty, which will come out a few weeks from now!
OKAY NOW YOU CAN CHOOSE WHICH GUNDAM WE BUILD. Either it will be big red round friend, or it will be big sharp scary friend:
Comments
They vary! From what I’ve experienced, Brian makes sure to move the times around so that at least some of the streams are watchable for different timezones.

2021-07-08 23:32:26 +0000 UTCVoting for Evangelion but I'll have to catch the recording since the stream will be at 1 am for me in Japan. I've only been a Jorts Enthusiast for a month lol, are the livestreams always at the same time or does it vary?
2021-07-07 23:44:32 +0000 UTCOh what a tough choice, Unit 00 is such a pretty Eva, but Zakus are such friends. And I also have a Zaku kit, so like, it could be Zaku day and we can all build Zakus

2021-07-07 20:23:41 +0000 UTCI was thinking about that! I'm still VERY bad at it, but I have a lot I need to model for Mr. Smock, so I think that would be a good idea (assuming my computer doesn't explode from streaming/rendering at the same time)

2021-07-07 17:33:49 +0000 UTCI know nothing about Gunpla but the red boy looks like the Iron Giant from Final Fantasy so he's got my vote. For the July process stream, you previously mentioned you were learning Blender. Would a Blender stream be a possibility?

2021-07-07 17:28:20 +0000 UTCVoted for round freind simply because i like the name yaku

2021-07-07 17:12:43 +0000 UTCHappy to be a supporter, regardless of where/when/whether credits appear. Keep up the good and weird work!

2021-07-07 17:07:13 +0000 UTCI totally understand the disappointment, and had thought about doing bloopers to keep folks watching! But the main problems are: 1. A lot of the shorties have very few bloopers, since they're filmed extremely quickly 2. The bloopers/BTS footage is only thing I have for the "Bold Donation Goofus" level, so putting it out in the main video would undercut those patrons Again, I totally understand the disappointment! It's just that this is the only feasible way for me to get the shorties out without them feeling bloated!

2021-07-07 17:03:52 +0000 UTCThe Unit 0 will be an easier build for a stream, but Zaku is hard to say no to
2021-07-07 16:54:53 +0000 UTCTo be totally honest, I do understand the issues you are having with the credit roll names, but I must say I am disappointed that my name won't be appearing in as many videos. I don't only donate to see my name, but I do like that my friends and I can all enjoy seeing my name in the credits. It's a benefit of my contributions that others besides myself can enjoy. In lieu of leaving the names out entirely, how about just putting 20 seconds of bloopers behind the names at the end? Then people have a reason to stick around and watch the last 20 seconds, and you can still leave plenty of outtakes for us patrons, and maybe seeing one or two outtakes will even bring in more patrons who want to watch the rest of the outtakes!

2021-07-07 16:45:51 +0000 UTCthis is the only sub-annual business report where grilling meats is a must.

2021-07-07 16:36:33 +0000 UTCI voted Big Round friend, but I must be very clear that I don't actually care, I just want to do crafts together, so I'll be building something when you work on your little pal.

2021-07-07 16:22:26 +0000 UTCI have voted for the spiky friend, but mainly because it once again put camhcom’s VERY GOOD Tenacious Eva song mashup trilogy in my head again. YouTube playlist link reference for the uninitiated: /playlist?list=PLz-r6ePUJBv-VM2o3LjBawaDc3ZsuBz50
