I blinked and it's Friday~ An update.

Small update, nothing game changing to report that wasn't covered in the recent update that went up on the site earlier. Mostly wanted to talk a lil bit about the future of Patreon rewards and such. Please keep in mind that depending on how things go development wise, some or all of these things may end up changing. But, I thought it'd still be interesting to talk about anyway, just please take this all with a grain of salt as nothing is set in stone yet.

So, a list of thoughts.

- I'll be upfront in that I'd like to keep Patreon rewards as personal as possible. As in, generally speaking, the rewards you receive specifically through Patreon will be locked to your account, will not be tradeable on their own, and/or will not add direct monetary value to your elnins. Obviously there are shades of gray here that we'll need to navigate as we start to expand rewards, but the idea is that these rewards are for you specifically, and are not meant to be used as a trade currency or seen as a form of reimbursement for your pledges. They're just there as an added bonus for you to enjoy.

- Taking the above into consideration, I am also going to be doing my best to make sure that item rewards are at least somewhat adaptable so that people don't end up with account bound miscellany that they have no desire or use for. For example, I initially wanted to do rewards for specific trait tokens (rare mutations, wings, etc). However, as I've seen with the undine tokens from before, this doesn't always work out when the rewards are meant to be account bound. Not everyone will find the inspiration to actually use it once they have it (understandable, it's bound to happen).

What we're looking at is giving some sort of ability for people to purchase items either through modified SC merchants, or a new/separate Patreon currency or voucher specifically for these special types of rewards.

With the system I'd like to do, instead of being rewarded a token for a specific rare trait, you'd receive some sort of purchasing voucher or currency that would allow you to select a reward that you know you want. We'd like to make it so that these purchases are reversible within the system so that even if you buy a mutation token and later decide it doesn't suit your elnin, you can simply get something else.

- In addition to the above, we'll also be exploring making Patreon currency more flexible or otherwise expanding on its usefulness within the system. There are some pretty neat ideas being fleshed out, but in this instance I don't wanna jump the gun on mentioning specifics because a lot of it is still heavily under construction.

- I'm hoping these changes will help Patreon rewards feel better and have a more positive impact on your overall experience. I'm pretty excited about finally being able to expand things +u+

- Speaking of site stuff. Small preview for upcoming update~ We're looking into having achievements/badges and titles added for accounts and individual elnins so there will definitely be Patreon related ones. (I'm pretty excited for this part of the update since I'm a huge achievement nerd xD).

And as far as me, I'm trying to get back into the routine. Hopefully I can start posting art wips again soon, but I think next week I'll want to catch up on the last of the hanging DMs and trait questions. Luck willing I'll be able to get through them all soon. ovob

Thanks for the update! <3 I know they're not set in stone yet, but it's inspiring to see all you and the team have planned! ^^ I really like the idea of being able to purchase rewards with SC or another currency, as in planning growths and thinking about art, I realize not all of my children I'd want to reach noble status, so being able to give them something different would be great hah.

I personally enjoy the idea of a shop where we can spend over-time earned patreon points on various things, with points being 1 point = 1 dollar, so 200 points = noble token if you should wish to redeem it, or spend points on many cheaper items / save for an even more expensive item (?). I would certainly feel my money was well spent if I wasn't only earning SC, because I already spend so much SC just editing and updating art which feels like a harsher blow a lot of the time when I've long since gotten and redeemed my noble token.
