Patreon Update October 2023 and beyond

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to keep it short, so let me give you a tl;dr first:

I'm going to slim down the reward structure, simplify things a bit and introduce a second term reward every month! Generally, I want to provide more rewards! Better explanation below, though I'll try to keep it short!

Longer explanation: 

We always had the goal to introduce more rewards when we would grow as a community, to reflect getting more voices in the room. Basically the idea was, if Patreon starts supporting me enough financially that I don't have to rely on commissions all the time, I could start producing more content for Patreon.

Now, those that have been with me for a long time know that I like to be very, transparent and honest with people, and I'd like to continue this tradition by telling you all a big THANK YOU for your outstanding support in the past couple of weeks. It's been a blessing and a privilege to have you all here, and I want to make sure to do as much for you as possible! 

So I'm going to add a second reward term to each month! I will introduce a new tier, so you can choose to either support every first term of the month, or both terms! The new tier will vary between character illustrations and couple illustrations, and I want to give people the chance to also get more niche characters that maybe don't get the attention they deserve!

The new tier structure will look like this:

✨ Tier 1 ($1):

• Will be unchanged, I will just change some wording, because the tier description is a bit cluttered with unnecessary stuff! 

✨ Tier 2 ($5): 

• Will be unchanged, just like in Tier 1 I will correct the wording a bit to make things cleared! 

✨✨ Tier 3 ($10) NEW: ✨✨

• Will include all previous rewards, but also the second reward term each month, and I will move the extra voting poll power here.
• Reward terms will include either: A second character art (popular), illustrations with 2 or more characters, niche characters
• For every term reward poll you will get an extra vote poll, and I will count every vote in the extra vote poll twice. So if you vote for your fav, you vote for them basically 3 times (once in the poll for everyone, twice in the extra vote poll)

✨ Tier 4 ($15): Includes all previous rewards, remains unchanged otherwise. 

• Still the catch up tier for people who discovered my Patreon at a later date! You can catch up with ONE TERM of your choice per month.

✨ Tier 5 ($30): 

• This will be a tier just in case people want to support a bit more. It has the exact same rewards as Tier 4. 

✨ Tier 6 ($120): Previously Tier 9, the legacy founder sketch tier. 

• Since this is the only tier where I would accept a new personal rewards lot, if someone were to leave it, this one is the only one that will be displayed!

The tiers will be set live today, but will mainly be effective in October! You can join them, if you want to support me a bit "extra", but neither do I expect you to, nor will it benefit you in any shape way or form! (I'm obviously super grateful if you do anyway).

Now to adress the elephant in the room: 

Yes, that means, if you want both terms every month, things are a bit more expensive. Here the honesty part comes into play big time. Art doesn't make me particularly rich, as you can imagine. Doing more work is only feasable for me, if I can somehow make back the money for the time investment. 

If this plan gathers enough support it will set up Patreon to be my 100% main source of income for a long time, which means I can focus more on drawing extra rewards for all of you (extra NSFW, more variants etc.) without added cost, focus more on designing merchandise for conventions, and - god forbid - take my first vacation in over 15 years. Maybe even design and draw an OC that I don't abandon right away. Who knows? Let's play with fire a little.

I hope that the lookout to more rewards, more characters, more polls, more interactions and just generally MORE STUFF is making up for that! I for one am looking forward to it big time!
