Newsletter August 2022

Hey everyone! 

It's the top of the month, so it's time we head into our August Newsletter! I will have two slightyl different versions of this for Patreon and Ko-fi, because the content is a bit different, but if you read it on Patreon you get the ... full experience. 

Yeah, let's call it that. xD

🍹 Birthday Month

As some of you might know, August 27th is my birthday, and I am an absolute maniac for birthdays! Last year we did a birthday celebration stream, but I have no clue if that will return this year, since I haven't streamed in a long, long while! 

Rest assured, I'm gonna see if we can do anything fun on that day (probably on the day at midnight, since I plan to spend the day with friends otherwise). 

I'm really looking forward to it! 🥰

🍹 New Sketch Theme

As we're entering the next phase of sketch requests, it's time for our next theme, which is DISNEY. 

I always choose Disney for my birthday, because it's what I grew up on. I'm looking forward to seeing all your ideas! A seperate post about the theme will be available for it, so there isn't much more to say about it here!

🍹 Patreon Content

July was such an excited month for content on Patreon! I wanted to do NSFW content for a long time, but I never knew in what capacity. There is always a bit of a divide between what I can post where and how. 

To explain this in a bit more detail: Since I also have a Ko-fi, I can't post NSFW art to my main Twitter account. Via Ko-fis content guidelines I am not allowed to do so. I knew this going into Ko-fi, but at the time I didn't plan to do NSFW content for any rewards, but that was over a year ago, and a lot has changed since then. 

I'm all the more happy that the reception for my Pin-Up adventures were something you enjoy! It's been tons of fun to come up with new content ideas for future posts, to think about characters and poses, looking for references. It's been really refreshing. Pin-Up art and 90s art are two passions of mine that I really want to lean into! 

In August we're gonna see the "Devil" theme happening, which is going to be tons of fun! Byleth was the character you voted for last month, and I love her, so I can't wait to get to it! 

At the same time I'm working on more content for Patreon. Exclusive commissions, YCHs and just generally more artworks are all on the horizon! Not all of that might happen in August, so please be patient, but I hope to get to do all of this sooner rather than later! 

🍹 Ko-fi Content

It's been a bit difficult to come up with proper Ko-fi content. We have the merchandise and sketch tiers, and those work well, at least from what I feel. I'm currently re-evaluating on what I want my Ko-fi content to look like going forward. I did the same thing for Patreon, and it worked very well for me there, gave me a bit of a different, sturdier structure to work with. I hope to do the same thing for Ko-fi, since I want it to be a plattform that can sustainably deliver you amazing content.

As soon as I have things to share, I will do so posthaste! The only thing I can already spoil is that most of the Ko-fi content will evolve around 90s art.

🍹 90s Art

I have some really fun plans for 90s artworks, especially centered around the "beach episode" I already started with my FFXIV Venat fanart. I hope you're reading for some sandcastle building and some swimming lessons!

🍹 Current Commission Cycle

Since there was a lot of delays due to my tablet issues, the current commission cycle has not yet been finished, but will be finalized in August, hopefully within the first half of it! Afterwards I probably won't immediatly jump into the 90s waitlist again, but focus on either other commission types, YCHs or Patreon rewards! 

🍹 My new tablet

For a few days now I've worked with the Huion Kamvas 24. It's a fantastic piece of hardware, and I'm very happy with it! Took me a day or two to get used to the different pen and the different feel of the glass, but it was fun getting into this. 

I hope this baby will stay with us for a long time!
