Update Post! Mar 15th, 2024 (GaMetal x Clone Hero Power Pack #2 announcement, + a BONUS, + DS Medley preview date/time!)

Greetings folks! I've got something special for you today, especially those of you who are a fans of Guitar/Clone Hero:

Five years ago, we released a pack of charts for Clone Hero (and/or other Guitar Hero-likes) called the GaMetal Power Pack. I've been getting emails and the occasional question over the years asking if we'd ever make a second one.

Well I'm happy to announce that we've finally got the second pack ready to release this weekend! I've commissioned pro CSC charter Miscellany to put together a brand new set of GaMetal songs for use with your choice of 5-fret rhythm game.

The original plan was for this to be around 25 charts (more of an "expansion pack" to the first), but over time, that eventually grew to 50... until we finally ended up with over 70 charts! Huge props to Miscellany for going the extra mile and including so many extra charts for us.

And like we did for the first power pack, we'll be previewing the chart pack with legend of the Guitar Hero comnunity Jason Paradise today at 4:00 PM US Eastern Time over on his Twitch channel! So stop on by if you want to hang out with us to take a look at what all the new pack has to offer.

We've had this in the works for about a year and a half now (I believe it was around August of 2022 when Jason and I first talked about it), so I'm delighted to finally get this out to the GH community! We'll be officially releasing the pack on Sunday.

ALSO.....

This pack features a brand new remix: a Guitar Hero III Boss Battle styled arrangement of Battle to the Death (Fierce Battle) from Final Fantasy VI !

This arrangement was made specifically for this pack, and is essentially a non-stop insane Guitar solo duel over the Fierce Battle theme. It also has two different halves: the full band piece comprises the first half, while the second half is the two guitars going back and forth completely solo, just like many of the old Guitar Hero boss battles did.

I know there might be some of you that'd prefer the two halves as their own tracks for separate listening, so I've provided downloads for different versions: the full version (tagged as part of the 2024 "album" lineup) and both halves split into their own tracks (which is also how it will appear on streaming services later on).

I will be releasing a video for this song as well a few days after the DS Medley video!

Speaking of which, I'm far enough along with the DS Medley to confirm a date and time for that full track preview stream for you all. It'll be on Sunday, March 17th, starting around 4:00 PM US Eastern time. The video should be ready a couple of days or so after that (Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest).

I've been working on a few other songs on the side as well, so yeah we're looking at another tone of those top-heavy months here in March. 😅
