Update Post: Patreon Appreciation Month 2023!!

Hey Patrons, August is here, and for us here that means it's Patron Appreciation Month!

It's now been 8 whole years since I released GaMedley, and with it, the start of the GaMetal Patreon campaign. I've had the immense privilege to receive support from hundreds of you here throughout that time, and there are still some of you that have been able to stick around since the very beginning back in 2016. Whether you've been here since the then, or one of those who could only support for a limited amount of time, or if you just joined yesterday, I can't express enough how thankful I am for each and every single one of you. I would've never been able to commit to GaMetal full-time without the help I've received from you all here, and still wouldn't be able to today, so I know I might sound like a broken record because I'm always saying this, but please take these words to heart: I really and truly appreciate your support and couldn't do this without you, you all are the backbone of GaMetal, thank you so much for everything! 🥲

This month is about you all, so we're going to do things a little different than usual: three songs will be chosen from the Patreon Request List to go on the to-do list during our monthly Patreon stream rather than just one, and I will not be using my handpick bias for any of them.

We'll also be choosing songs to go into two console medleys, both of which can be participated in by all Patrons!

I've lightly discussed with you all that perhaps we'll take a break from NES Medleys this year since we had our 10th last year, and after much thought and consideration, I've decided to do just that.

I know the wait has been driving some of you nuts (sorry! 😅), but I've finally decided on what consoles we'll be hitting up this year, which will be one returning and one new console medley:

SNES Medley is back for a second edition! We'll be treating this one just like the NEStalgia line and pulling 10 songs for it.

And a little after that will come a Nintendo DS Medley! We'll be treating this one like our other non-NES console medleys, pulling 7 songs + a few more that I'll be throwing in myself , mostly from the song submission pool.

Important note in regards to the monthly stream! The date of our next Patreon stream will be moved ahead a few days to August 10th. This is to give you all some extra time to get your submissions in. I'll also give a final reminder the day before for any last minute submissions.

One more thing for you all this month! I mentioned in the last Patreon stream that I had a special video for you all in the works. It's been a while since I've done any sort of 'Patron-exclusive bonus content', so I thought up a fun idea for a video when I was going through some stuff a little while ago:

Coming later this month, I have a video for you on Rare, Unreleased, Abandoned/Unfinished GaMetal and Jonny Atma tracks! This will include tracks that I may have done for other people's projects but never released outside of that in an official capacity, beta versions of songs, unreleased remasters, sound tests, and some songs that I never got around to finishing for whatever reason. Some of these things you may have heard before but others, you haven't! I should have this video done and out for you around the middle of the month.

Normal, unrelated to Patron Appreciation Month updates:

I managed to squeeze in 4 songs last month (5 if you count Dodo which.. I don't 😂), so aside from the gonna-be-a-collab-because-they're-vocal-songs stragglers, and Serpent (which I'll be working on soon), the only other song left on the to-do list will be the one coming up next: Go Straight from Streets of Rage 2.

So the to-do list is now:

Patron Appreciation Month festivities will be add an additional 5 songs to the list, but aside from the 2 console medleys (which I tend to have finished later in the year around October and December), I'm thinking I'll be able to knock it back down to a good size by around mid to late September.

I'm still working on Project Peppermint (something always comes up and gets me busy 😅), I will keep you updated when I can!
