The story of this year's ballot: Pizza Tower. The game that has recently captured the gaming community by storm dominated the ballot this year, with 3 top 10 song placements, 2 of those songs being the top 2, and a #1 most requested series overall, beating out GaMetal fan-favorite Kirby.

We also had a couple of surprise series break through into the top 10, even beating out ballot odds favorites like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Sonic Frontiers, those being The World Ends With You getting two songs in the #10 and #9, and the truly unexpected Night Slave snagging a crazy high #2 spot, due to a (by all accounts, legitimate) ballot campaign spearheaded by GaMetal community member Lumine.

As I state every year, the ballot will have a strong influence on several song choices made later in the year, so you can bet that we'll be getting to a few of the songs mentioned above sometime soon!

Rewinding now to the top of the stream! Before we looked at the ballot results, we got our monthly Patreon Request List song addition to the to-do list. We got a bit of an interesting one this month with:

Tubelectric from Jazz Jackrabbit 2, from the list of Daniel McDonald! If you played games back in the classic MS-DOS days, you've probably at least heard of the Jazz Jackrabbit series. Smooth song! Perhaps another for the Chill GaMetal playlist?

We've been on a bit of an old-school streak the last few weeks... and I've decided for my monthly handpicked PRL choice to keep that going just a tiny bit longer with a personal favorite track of mine:

Boomer Kuwanger from Mega Man X, from the list of Tsuike! This has always been my favorite MMX track that I've wanted to make a full remix of, so for a bit of a pre-May Madness appetizer (It was in the old MMX Maverick Medley and Mega Man Mega Medley II, after all), I'm finally going to deliver that full rendition for you all. 🙂
