Major Update Post! Nov 19th, 2021 (Outlining the rest of 2021!)

Hey Patrons! 

I've got a pretty big update post for you today, I'd like to reveal the song list for the remainder of 2021.

At this point, I've only confirmed 3 songs that will be happening before the end of the year: the next song, Battle Hymn of the Soul, followed by the recent GaMetal Discord request battle winner Tough Guy Alert!, and the PSX Medley coming in early December.

I'd now like to confirm an additional 4 songs that we'll be getting to before the year's end

I've been mentioning in recent streams and update posts that I was wanting to get to some more high ranking 2021 ballot songs before we went into 2022. I started that process with the Battle Hymn of the Soul handpick (ballot rank #7), and while I'll still be getting to some of the high ballot songs in early 2022 before next year's ballot goes live, these 4 are songs I'd like to get to before the year's end.

First up:

Elder Princess Shroob from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time! This song was ranked #11 in the 2021 ballot, and #7 in the 2020 ballot. in 2019, Final Antasma was the most requested M&L song, and as soon as that was done, this song took it's spot as the #1 M&L request.

E.P.S. is really short, so I'll be combining it with the normal Princess Shroob Battle theme to give it some length.

I'm going to be releasing this song immediately after Tough Guy Alert!, so we can have a Mario & Luigi double-header next weekend (or final 2 days of the month, depending on my work progress). 

Following up Elder Princess Shroob will be:

MECHA BEE DESTROYER BLASTLORD from Bug Fables! While I am excited about this one, the title really is in all caps, lol.

Released late in 2019, Bug Fables wasn't exactly a hot 2020 ballot pick (with only a handful of votes), but it's popularity grew gradually over time, to the point where I was seeing a noticeable amount of requests in the comments, especially for Transcending, Overpowering, Everlasting. That remix possibly gave Bug Fables the boost it needed to shoot this banger up to rank #14 of the 2021 song ballot.

This song will come shortly after Elder Princess Shroob, during the first few days of December.

MBDB will be followed by our first PSX Medley!.. but you probably already knew that. You can see the song list over at the recap post from a few months ago if you need a refresher.

Lost in Thoughts All Alone could finally possibly happen in December, but because of the circumstances surrounding it (getting a vocalist lol), I'm still listing it as TBA for now.

Waiting For You is in the same boat as LiTAA but longer as I haven't even started on that one yet.

That leaves nothing on the to-do list, so let's-a-go:

A King Olly Battle Medley from Paper Mario: Origami King! 

There was a lot of confusion (for me personally, haven't played the game lol) surrounding what songs exactly made up the entire final battle with King Olly, but after some help from Discord Patrons (thank you Ammy!) I now have it figured out, and the length isn't so bad either. This medley will be comprised of Battle with King Olly, King Olly and Mega Bowser, Mega Bowser on the Brink, King Olly on the Brink, and The Final Battle.

Battle With King Olly was ranked #3 in the ballot, and Mario was of course the #1 requested series this year, so I'm anticipating this one should go over very well.

And finally, there's one more song we absolutely have to do:

The #1 song from the 2021 GaMetal Song Ballot: The Azure Arbitrator from The Legend of Heroes: Ao No Kiseki!

With a whopping 74 ballot votes, this song is the highest requested GaMetal ballot song of all time, even ranking high above Void Termina and God Shattering Star, which each had about 58 votes.

Normally I'd consider King Olly for the finale spot, but I'm going to put my trust in this one's ballot results to take us out of 2021.

So there you have it, our final set list for the year is now:

Eventually, we still need to get to the #2 ballot song, Con Lentitud Poderosa + You’re Gonna Need A Bigger Ukulele, but those are both very long songs that I need some more time to prepare for, so I can't confirm a time frame for it at the moment. Most likely early 2022.

And on a final note: the monthly Patreon Stream PRL song and handpicked choice in December will likely be completed in January or February of 2022 at the latest.
