The Ultimate “Super Mario Sunshine” Recap Cartoon

We've been working on this one on and off since January of this year. To compare it to our other lengthy cartoons- the Minecraft one, clocking in at 10 minutes and 41 seconds, had around 30 total shots. This Mario Sunshine one, is 8 minutes and 15 seconds and has a whopping 70 shots! It took an insane amount of time and effort from our team of animators. We're combining puppet-based animation done in Moho (Mario himself is a rigged character) with frame by frame animation done in TVPaint. The tracking sheet for this one was a beast, keeping everything manageable in general was a hard task.
The character designs! I did these back in March! Happy to finally be able to show them.
