Even though I said I am glad eleven died, I have one more hot take…. Kalie never got shot. Her bleeding out was an illusion to make hoper think she was dead. The plan was the kill vecna and go back exactly how Mike explained, but Kalie was actually waiting for her near the base. She was also bleeding out severely how would she survive the entire fight and still be alive and have the energy to project way out of her abilities limits. Her and eleven are together in that place finally free. Eleven went through so much it doesn’t make sense they her happy ending was to be alone again. Give up everyone she loves with nothing in return. I get that is what self sacrifice is but how cruel. She still doesn’t have a good vocabulary or understanding of the world and she just has to start over alone? Nah. That is too cruel and as we all can see the duffer brothers are way too nice and care for these characters.

2026-01-08 08:06:47 +0000 UTCI think what PD said is true this show spanned over 10 years for us and the wait between season 4 and 5 really made you forget some things. Now, I rewatched season four right before this season aired part one. It was pretty fresh in my head. I also watched stuff about the play which does help tie in some of the gaps. Even without the play I think if you remember season four and what the dad said about Henry i don’t think people would be confused. They did their best to help us remember by talking about will building the tunnels and how the mindflayer took over. I know Henry is saying that it was him but he sees himself and the mind flayer as the same. So he really ment the particles. The entirety of season two was about the mind flayer. Even before vecna came into play. They did lock the “particles” back into the upside down and Billy was taken over by it as well. The particles are the mind flayer. Henry gave it the spider shape. I also think a lot of people try hard to forget season two because of how much it sucked but it did have a lot of info about the mind flayer and the upside down. Dustin also introduced vecna as the mind flayers general. I think at some point even the kids forgot about the particles and that is why Will was so shocked and said it wasn’t Henry’s fault. But that is my opinion. I kinda hate the duffer brothers for leaving it so open ended. My hot take is I chose to believe she’s dead. Lol I never cared much for eleven. And also Kalie has a limit to her power… what was the distance? I think the portal and the lab were way out of that range. But at the same time how did she get away she could barely move anytime the kryptonite was on her. And they were pointed at the van before they opened it up. Kinda sucks she had to die and I hate how they made such a big deal about the military this whole time and her dying was the end. But I guess that was always the way it had to be. Either they got her back or she died. And Dr K of all people just gets to live. Crazy.

2026-01-08 07:59:30 +0000 UTCI cried like a baby watching this finale again oh my gosh 😭 Landslide and Heroes playing absolutely KILLED ME. I’ve been in mourning over this show for like the past 6 days and the grief still feels so strong. I’m gonna miss this show and this era of my life so much. Stranger Things has been this constant thing to look forward to and to be invested in for about half of my life now and it feels like as the story concludes, so does this stage of my life and youth and it’s hard to let go and move on. Sorry if this sounds dramatic haha 🤣 this show just means a lot to me. I’m so grateful that they gave us such a beautiful finale ❤️

2026-01-06 08:22:20 +0000 UTCI watched this in the movie theater. and the screams when Steve fell and the loud cheers when it was revealed Jonathan saved him, that was an experience. Plus, the applause when Joyce chopped off his head, but also the sounds of people crying to the montage that accompanied it. I haven't cried this much in a theater since watching Toy Story 3 and Coco. So, if you think about the battle, it actually starts the second El yeets Henry from his house. In a battle you begin by weakening your opponent with attacks from multiple sides. It isn't always active fighting either, as both sides can retreat if needed to regroup. That doesn't end the fight. Thus the entire time Henry has to spend chasing the kids is also part of the overall battle, as it is weakening him and distracting him. With this in mind, the entire battle against Vecna lasts about 50 minutes. My only complaints about the finale are, not enough Erica and that bitch Dr. Kay isn't dead. Also, there is a play that explains Henry Creel's background more, and explores his teenage years. It explains what the rock is.

I agree that the fight should have been longer and with more demos. But idk, Nancy kinda ate the mind flayer up for a minute🤣! Nancy is the boss! Also glad that we still have everyone( especially/specifically my man Steve). But I genuinely love this show so much I was crying for like 70% of it. This show started when I was 13… now I’m 23 and I loved growing up with this show!! I BELIEVE 🥹🥹!!
