this is my favorite hxh episode and one of my fave in anime history. meruem and komugi 's story is one of my faves, I bought the pop figurine of them playing gungi cause it is just so beautiful truly. I bawl every time with this episode really.

2026-01-07 08:41:11 +0000 UTCyeah this ending STILL gets me teary eyed every single time there's something about even an Atom Bomb not being able to kill Meruem, but a small poor blind girl is the one who saved humanity. the humility of facing someone better than you in something, realizing how that competition can make you stronger is what pushed the King to his human side. also, the promise Palm couldn't keep was not to let the King have Komugi. she was just gonna stall until he died.

2025-12-13 21:28:36 +0000 UTCH E A R T B R E A K ! ! It's been AGES and i still cry like a baby! This episode directed so well, no intro and no official outro for the whole episode. Completely given to Komugi and Meruem. Showed aspects of their characters. The development of Meruem's character is gorgeous, a full blown arc!! Komugi finally having someone that CAN understand her and how her mind works. She is ready to die just to be with that one person-- They are not even the main characters!! This is crazy side character work from the mangaka.
