there's a stabbing attack on a train in Taiwan last year and there's this guy who stopped the attack which he got injured. He said "this is what Himmel would’ve done " on the interviews. this anime resonated with people so much especially Himmel its beautiful. What a line to live by, He need a statue IRL!

2025-12-13 19:25:58 +0000 UTCyeah this episode was absolutely crazy. love the way they portray the concept of demons. Also Lügner is german (like pretty much all the names in this anime) and means "Liar". Pretty fitting if you ask me :D And his underlings Draht = wire and Linie = line.

I personally feel like there was a shift at some point in modern media to make demons, as creatures/characters, to be more morally grey and nuanced. It's been done so much that it's almost an expectation for me at this point. This show does an interesting thing by allowing the evil demons to just be straight up evil. There is no nuance or complicated reason for why they do what they do and why they kill. They're simply just monsters that evolved to manipulate people. It's funny how the "cliché" route is now the more interesting one that can subdue expectations.
