I agree with you on Ryuu, I felt like he had so much potential. It’s most likely because he was, after all, a 2 week trainee As for Anderson we have to keep in mind that not only does he need to know Korean, but he needs to know Japanese— one language is already difficult enough imo I’ve also heard that it’s because he keeps(?) (might need to be corrected here) messing up on his JP rap, which is 100% understandable. There’s a main reason the judges were so taken back with Daeng during his Why rap haha

I think it would be so cool to have a Filipino member in NCT, since this was the last chance to add new members… Plus EXILE and EXILE Tribe being pretty much an inspiration for NCT, it would be so cool if NCT’s Japanese unit had a member, who is related to someone from the iconic Jpop group! And anyway… he was already this good, imagine him getting better and better every comeback!! I will say more later on, but not debuting Ryu is such a waste of potential and a solid member!

Since all NCT units debuted as 7 members, right early on I felt like: “They are saying just 4 of them will join Sion and Yushi, but I bet it will be 5” and then JaeHee joined the show and I knew they want him to debut + it will be 5 members joining Sion and Yushi… So after this first round my ranking was: Riku, Ryu, Anderson and then it is unclear. In a way I like Haruta, but it feels weird to place him above JungMin, but at the same time JungMin feels like might forget his name from the amount of nerves… and then it is between Sakuya and Ryo, obviously and I personally liked Sakuya more. Looking at it back, I know JungMin manages to get better more compared to Haruta. So rewatching it with you, my top five are: Riku, Ryu, Anderson, Sakuya and JungMin. I am not sure if it is not too soon to comment on JungMin for you. But when it comes to Ryu and Anderson, it is weird to me they did not make it. Both of them ranked high every round and then for the end they realized the ranking does not match the line up they want, so they just placed them so randomly… People say Anderson was cut from the debut line up because of language barrier and… I do not know… WinWin also debuted in 127 not speaking Korean at all and then (once he got better) they focused on the American market and he again became “the silent member”, because of knowing no English… And when it comes to Ryu… I feel like they just decided they like JaeHee more, so he took Ryu’s spot.

The production in LASTART is soooo good… also you’re completely right about Riku’s performance he did phenomenal! Interestingly enough his rap is very J-rap inspired which I think makes him a phenomenal addition to NCT!!

Also Riku has mentioned that him, Ryo, and Sakuya actually only trained for 6 months prior to filming the show, not 1 year like was stated in the show. So it's actually insane to think that 4/6 members only had 6 months or less of training experience!
