I would certainly reframe this. Everyone has charm, even white boy bands. But I do think different industries have different rankings of charm and this is my subjective view.

2025-11-08 05:25:49 +0000 UTCi'm really glad you're reacting to jpop!! but i don't really like what you said about kpop idols having a certain "charm" over jpop idols. the japanese music industry is the second largest in the world, and there are an infinite amount of jpop idols with immense charm. just because you don't follow the industry as much as kpop doesn't mean you can blindly say jpop idols have less charm based off the very few examples you've seen. the industry is extremely diverse and full of incredible talent and charisma, and it's existed even before the kpop industry. in fact, the kpop industry was modeled off the jpop industry. japan invented idols!! no country would have idols without japan. i really think you should try more jpop groups because the industry is very rich with talent and not as gatekeepy as you're implying. and it has a very long history too-- the first jpop idols are from the 1960s!! there's tons to discover. either way, no hate to you at all, i would just suggest you be a bit more careful with how you word things because it can come off a bit dismissive.

Some of their songs are either hit or miss for me, but just like dat is one of my favorites. If you want to check more of them I recommend you my other 2 fav songs from them - "What's happenin'" and "Love fire" which is more vocal based
