Guys, thank you so much for your advice. Forgot to mention though that the gas system in the caravan has this thing as well so i can turn gas on and off with these nobs for each item, the onnly one left out of these three is the gas hob.. would that not be sufficient if i just turn the fridge and heater nobs off as they no longer exist only leaving the hob on? Or do i still need to seal the pipes off which connected fridge and heater to the gas supply???

As long as you donot connect a gas cylinder to the system, is doesn't matter in wich position they are. You don't have to remove them either.

I agree with the comments by Paul (above) 100%. Turning gas off to unused appliances would work for the short term, but I recommend leak testing of unused pipes and capping them to prevent accidental opening or leaking.

You would be fine turning the knobs off. But I would do a soap bubble test on the open ends if you decide not to cap them, just to be sure the valves are actually sealing closed. But it would still be safer to cap them off as well in case a valve ever got bumped open. Its pretty easy to do that yourself.
