BOYS II PLANET EP 5 - DISCUSSION

BOYS II PLANET EP 5 - DISCUSSION

Comments

I also got quite annoyed by Hyunjun, but I was probably quite biased. However, it is very fair to say that the S-Class three-star team was not only as skillful, but also more popular. So, I can understand his fear of going against them. What he probably couldn't foresee was that the plot-twist, one-star team going against them had some of the most popular contestants on the show.

I also wasn’t happy with what was shown of hyunjun in this ep but just wanted to point out that I think some of the fear about s class was actually that they didn’t want to go up against another all star team. It was similar to nobody wanting to do whiplash because of yumeki’s stacked team. Pretty sure that’s what hyunjun meant when he said that the top priority was surviving to the next round

I actually noticed Kangmin did dance with the cast on until after half the song went by, He did SO WELL that I actually noticed way later the cast was indeed still there.

as a verivery fan from debut I was so surprised by Kangmin's growth in this show, talent wise and personality wise. His power in this stage was amazing. really upset he lost to minjae. kangmin giving advices and cheering his hyungs is just so cute to me. he is forever the maknae baby to me 😭 I am so proud. (I'm little worried for him after ep11 airing tho. 😓)

Also I absolutely can't understand what Minjae is doing. Even if he never wanted to make it into the final lineup and just went onto the show to promote his group or himself, he really failed with that. Like you are definitely not gaining fans with showing an attitude like this

Minjae and the boys, I am crying 😭 I think the worst thing is Minjae giving himself the killing part. Several people wanted to try out. And I think if they decided the killing part the "normal" way, people like Kaiwen for example would have had a good chance of getting it. So sad for the other trainees especially considering how the killing part is this "great thing" everybody wants to try out

I completely agree with you take on Hyun Jun. It felt like he was completely thinking only about himself and where he could thrive and i was surprised that most of the team was complacent with that. Nian Boheng, He Xinlong, Chen Bowen, and Tae Jo, could have all shined in S-class imo, where as in plot-twist, only hyun jun really fit it (maybe yun seo and chen bowen a little bit but i do think these two are very versatile). Even Hyun jun could have pulled it off, considering he did ggum for his audition. The team performed REALLY well but i can't help but wonder what their S-class stage would have looked like. For the S-class team, honestly while i don't agree, i can understand why the two members of team 2 won over team 1. Minjun had the killing part, and had some of the best moments comparatively in his team, so i can see why the audiences saw him more than Kang Min. Kaiwen vs Dong gyu is the difference in taste for me, cus Dong gyu fits the concept completely, from his tone to his look, but Kaiwen had this energy that I really liked in his dancing AND rap, which i feel would have translated well in a live environment. Regarding Minjae, unfortunately, there didn't seem to be anyone in that team that could step up to the leader or the killing part , whether he did that knowingly, who knows. He DEFINITELY, should have changed the main vocal. His way of leading the team was very questionable. On the other hand, Team 1 really did the song justice. Everyone stood out but i was especially impressed by Kang Min for doing his fullest and killing despite his injury. Seo won also stood out to me during the part selection because of the way he kept encouraging In Hu and understanding his hesitation. Also jun min is amazing, of course.

9:55 - Yun Seo was 11-12 on LOUD, now he is 15-16 😅😅 Back then, you could tell Yun Seo was still young. I mean besides his age you could see the comparison between him and Koki, who was just one year older, but he could lead his team and help others. I do not want this to sound like “he is the Koki for Boys II Planet”, because nobody will be like Koki for anything ever… But also the thing I like about him is different. He was not my “top anything” of LOUD like Yoon Min and Kim Dong Hyun (although I did like him to some extent and I hoped to see him somewhere in the future), but since I was aware of him, his skills and potential and his personality, it is so refreshing to see him grow and how he has developed and just the pure fact he turned out to be such a good kid and great person, that makes me super glad! And he actually might be my number one of this show, since out of my LOUD boys or favorites of this show in general, he fits the criteria of Mnet survival show’s idol the most and with his young age the 5 years long contract would not affect him joining his own group and starting their career later on

I really love your takes on these episodes. Genuinely enjoy your reactions and your thought process throughout the episodes. I believe it was this exact episode that made me wanna add Xinlong to my dream lineup as well. <333333 Also, when first watching the show, I went in full on expecting Sangwon or Leo to be my one picks. They still are part of my Top 5, but the moment I saw Kim Jun Min in S-Class my heart shook. 😂 As the show has went on, I just honestly love his charm of looking so intimidating at first glance, but his personality is so soft and kind hearted, and then when he gets on stage he really just turns into a wolf. It's incredible to watch! People I would love to see in the lineup at this moment is: Junmin, Sangwon, Leo, Donggyu, Xinlong, Geonwoo, Jiahao, and Anxin.
