Attack on Titan EP 88

Comments

Can’t believe we are here already 😱

Otto

The episodic release includes: 1) Both opening and ending 2) It gives viewer more time to breathe/comment and point out specific moments But don’t worry, I marked down the exact timing for PD to switch to that moment of the movie instead of the 94th episode, so the two after credit scenes will not be missed

Why aren't we watching the whole movie? Was it split on crunchyroll?

Thabit Ayob

i mean.... would you have saved the kid from getting beat up if it was to no point (in eren's perspective)? i have so much conflicting thoughts on this til this day and i've watched this a couple times

6:40 - I love this part of the opening, where we can see Eren going in circles in the paths trying to figure it all out by choosing various alternatives and along with that we see shots of the whole story we have seen so far and then once he is truly lost in himself, it transitions from him into the Attack Titan! It is truly ironic to realize Eren fought for freedom so badly that he took his own freedom by himself and set it all this way, so he ended up having to obey himself. If that makes sense 😅😅 I am not sure if this (what I am going to say) was mentioned in the manga/anime or if I have it from someone from the internet, but naming him “a slave of freedom” is truly a spot on description of Eren! 15:00 - Yeah… if you think about Armin did all of this. (Joke, obviously). But he basically scammed his depressed (of the world they lived in) friend with stories how wonderful the world outside is and once the reality check happened and Eren found out about the actual (ehm… basically ours) world, his dreams suddenly became one big lie. If only the book of Armin showed all the racism, occupations, wars, humankind’s need to be superior and so on. If that was the case, Eren’s reaction might have been: “Yeah… let’s stick with these dumb over-sized creatures, maybe if we handle them, we can just chill here for good” Obviously there is no way Eren would have said that and I have to admit I would have not either. But I do not know… actually this is the question I have been asking my whole life: “I kind of envy people, who believe in God if that gives them any proper reason and sense for our existence. Because as far as it all has been, it seems like one big mistake of nature or just a giant joke. But if there is any form of God… why doesn’t he/any pronoun do anything? It is as if he started to play The Sims, but then left for a break and forgot to hit the pause buttom and so there is no The Sims 2, because humanity is in the charge of The Sims 1 the whole time…” 17:05 - Yes, that’s his grandparents 17:23 - I know what you meant by that, but just to make it clear… Armin did not die. The serum does not bring dead ones back. Armin was literally at the end of his life, probably couple minutes before leaving our world, but he was still slightly breathing, so that is why they could save him with the serum. This ending is one of my favorite ones, like besides the very last one at the end of this whole story, which is just “one above all”, I like this one and then Akatsuki no Requiem by Linked Horizon, which was played in the first half of season 3, you may remember that one thanks to the episode, where Carla (Eren’s mom) was saying to Keith Shadis in the past that she loves Eren regardless of what he can accomplish, because he is great just because he was born and along that credits start. This ending is by Ai Higuchi (she blew up with the previous ending, Akuma no Ko) and it is called “Itterasshai" (行ってらっしゃい) and it is a Japanese phrase typically said when someone is leaving. It means something like: "please go and come back" or "take care", in this episode we got a little hint of Mikasa saying: “Itterasshai, Eren”. Also! We should enjoy this opening and ending, because this 3rd part of the final season has only 7 episodes, so it is really unequal to the previous ones! (It does not matter that you switch to the last 30 minutes of The Last Attack movie instead of the 94th episode, because that episode does not have an opening). And regardless of openings and endings, I think it is nice to watch this final part in this episodic release MAINLY if we are watching it with you here, so it is easier to comment on all of it more easily than making notes throughout the two 1 hour and something long special episodes. Like I think it provides both you and any viewer time to think about Eren’s mindset, because when you watch the special episodes, it happens all so “fast”/in “one take” that you might not remember these “details” by the very end. 27:45 - Watching other reactors’ reaction is the part of loving it so much that you truly need to recall the feeling of how you felt at that moment! I genuinely do not know what I will do, once we finish it here. Like I always look forward to Saturday and I try my best not to have anything planned for the time it drops here, so I can watch it immediately 😅😅
