My fav Jjong album! I love the progression of just a relationship throughout the entire album! Idk if I can choose a fav but suit up is definitely one of my top three cause to end the album LIKE THAT?!? In his album showcase he said suit up is about the wedding night so definitely a lead up to an awesome night with your partner lol! The entire showcase is on youtube if you ever wanna check it out!! I hope you check out his live stages for this album at some point! Theyre all soooooooo fun to watch hehe

It truly makes me wonder a lot what kind of soloist he would have been nowadays. Like… whether his solo would have been that “mainstream success” like TaeMin or more in the way of Onew, where you have to find your way to fully appreciate that as it is not so mainstream and easy to notice as in the case of TaeMin.

Especially because currently it seems that pd-nim is in the middle of processing his emotions about Jonghyun. Definitely one of my favs of his albums because he is so so SO honest in it--but still, be prepared.

He did a lot of stages for a lot of these songs (She Is & White Tshirt are my favorites!) i hope you can do bonus drops for them cause Jonghyun is an INCREDIBLE live performer (and the Moon livestage if you wanna be traumatized honestly - but like in a good way 🤭)

I started following your channel in 2017 and through the years I didn't understand you not liking SHINee that much; it didn't make sense in my mind. Now I get it, it wasn't your time. I'm glad we now can see your journey. I can't wait for you to get to Story Op 2, my fav Jonghyun album, it's given me so much comfort in my bad days... And to go back in SHINee's discography, there's a lot to discover! I also recommend checking out Taemin's old albums, he has hidden gems. Sometimes I still cannot believe the insanity that is SHINee, when you think of the members... Jonghyun AND Onew together!? Minho and Key!? and then... TAEMIN!? No other artist/groups were making music like this at the time, and there STILL isn’t another artist who comes close to Jonghyun in my opinion. He is a genius. I am excited for you to listen to more of his music. He has such a special place in my heart ♥️

2025-07-28 03:05:26 +0000 UTCJjong always be the nastiest one in SHINee lol. what I love about them is they're so diverse in their own solo, especially Jjong and Jinki (and it's funny because both of them are the vocals of their group lol) but because they're so different when they're together, five of them make SHINee song so special. they made a sixth voice into their songs as SHINee's voice. my favourite song of this album is White T-shirt, I really love the melody of this song.

I’m so happy that you’re slowly going through shinee’s discography as well as their solos :) Fun fact jonghyun actually wrote Cocktail for taemin, but taemin said that the song was out of his vocal range. However jonghyun did write Already for taemin from his Press It album (also a GREAT album)

2025-07-26 17:47:42 +0000 UTCYay! I’ve been waiting years for you to get into shinee and that’s been amazing and to get into jonghyun which is also so fantastic!! I adore this album I have it physical it’s so good!!! I think it does a great job of showing the variety of styles and moods he can do. Legit each song is so good. One of my fav things with jonghyun is how many layers he has in his music like the ad-libs and little phrases or vocal parts. I love saying them when singing along to his songs lol. It's part of the reason I adore shinee songs in general tbh, love how full the sound is. And the shinee songs jonghyun has written for the group always has that style or even ones he’s written for others (like “Playboy by Exo for example was one he did and he sang his own version too!) He wrote a song for taemin for his debut album Ace (called Pretty Boy) I’m sure he would have written songs for each of the other shinee member’s solos if he’d been around for their debuts!! Jonghyun really is someone who seems like he not only love singing but he just loves music in general. Writing/composing music, singing music, sharing music, etc. There are so many good songs here but my favorites I think are Cocktail cause the rhythm of it is so so good and Suit Up, idk it's just so authentically romantic and pretty I really like it. But all the songs are so good here. Take your time of course but I’m very excited for you to get to the Story Op 1 and 2 from Jonghyun because those are all so interesting and unique and have neat storytelling. Along with just being very nice to listen to, I call them “cafe albums” cause they’d be so nice to listen to in a cafe or relaxing environment but yeah very evocative and portray so many different things. I love your analysis with albums in particular so it’ll be a treat!

It’s so difficult for me to choose just one song, every one of them is just so different and so poetically written, he really is a storyteller! In Story op.1 and 2 he collected stories that people shared during the time he conducted his own radio show and he transformed them into songs, those albums are also magnificent. His voice…. Pd you have to see all of them live, especially in concerts, I always feel like live performances are part of their identity, to really know Shinee you have to watch them live! Thank u so much for this journey, it’s always so beautiful to see people react to jonghyun music and his magic ❤️

2025-07-26 11:27:18 +0000 UTCMy favourite song from the album is Moon! It literally takes me to outer space. The first time I heard the album I was a newbie shinee fan, but it blew my mind. So different and experimental for what was 2016 kpop but so brilliant, I think I realised I was Jonghyun biased around that era (the White Tshirt performances were a huge help ngl). Not my favourite album of his but probably the one I'd always recomend to be able to understand his artistry at the fullest. I'm not sure if your next Jonghyun reactions will be Story Op1 and 2 but if so, I am so excited to see your reaction to the lyricism, the songs are mostly on the slower side which is not everybody's cup of tea, but HIS LYRICS, istg, what you said that he paints a story? You'll see that in the fullest in these albums. He even wrote a book following those songs so, that says everything. So excited to continue this SHINee journey with you! Much love and take care!
