2025-05-02 04:58:46 +0000 UTCi think eren is one of the most tragic characters ever in anime. he's always been driven by freedom. he desired it above everything--freedom from the titans, freedom to live beyond the walls. but that day when he kissed historia's hand, he saw into the future and realized that he will never be--or perhaps he has never BEEN--free at all. the ending was set from the start. from then on, every action he takes can only lead to a future that is basically set in stone. no wonder he's never been the same since. remember that scene in S4 episode 10? when the gang just returned from the marley attack and eren confronts hange while he was locked up in a cell? he says, "I have the Founding Titan and you can't kill me. So, Hange... what is it that you can actually do? Tell me, Hange! If you've got something up your sleeve, let's hear it!" without knowledge of the reveal in this episode, you'd think that this was Eren just lashing out in anger or even just challenging Hange. but knowing what we do now, more than anything, it comes off as a cry for help. this is a boy desperately asking for an alternative solution even though he knows it's practically impossible. i feel so bad for him, man. also, king fritz' line: "As a reward, I will give you my seed," has got to be one of the most disgusting lines of all time 🤮

I didnt get spoilers from the manga, so i was like ?????? the whole time :D Also Eren's mom saying Eren's ears gave him away bc they're red when he lies... MAMA :') and Eren's dad was TERRIFIFED of him. Gosh what a journey! Ending credits begin with child Eren and im like Eren was such a little bean that only wanted to end titans-- look at him now! Side note: All the endings LITERALLY spoiled the whole story. If you go back and watch them you'll be surprised how advanced they were.

2025-04-26 16:03:20 +0000 UTCFan Fact: They said the chains cannot be broken, but Eren did not break the chains, his will was so strong that he ripped his fingers to go around the power of those chains. The reason Ymir did die and she did not start to heal herself was because she lost her will to live. That is the key factor to be able to heal. For example when the attack on Liberio happened, Reiner’s titan form looked “not that armored” and that was because of his mental state and him wanting to die. 45:00 - Yeah, literally every single Subject of Ymir was taken into the Paths at the moment. Imagine being in Liberio and having your time on toilet and suddenly you hear: “My name is Eren Yeager!!” Also… the reason why Grisha could see Zeke was because he saw it through “future Eren’s eyes”, because Eren was standing behind him and looking at Zeke. Eren basically wanted to let Zeke have his last moment with Grisha. The thing with all of this… it is a bit hard to explain, but basically the combination of the Attack Titan power (seeing future memories) and Ymir letting Eren use the full potential of the Founding Titan made it possible for Eren to basically “write the whole story” as he wanted, because he already could “travel in time” thanks to the future memories and with the help of Ymir he could take a look into alternatives/storylines and choose which one will be presented to us as to the viewers/readers. Technically you can say Eren manipulated himself into doing this all. That is why his character started to change, when he kissed Historia’s hand (when he had an interaction with the royal blood). The future Eren made the young Eren forget everything, when the story started (that is why it starts with Eren waking up from a dream and not remembering anything, also the very first episode is named: “To You, in 2000 Years: The Fall of Shiganshina, Part 1”). I always get my mind confused with things like these, so in case anyone else is struggling, I recommend thinking of it as of time being a flat circle, where basically everything is determined by Eren as if he (with the help of Ymir) was God, who created this whole circle, so regardless of what anyone does, nothing will be changed. That is why Eren was next to Grisha, when he was forced by “future Eren” to kill the royal family, although for us it does not really make sense because that was yet going to happen, but since it had been already determined the future was already present in the past 😅😅 Also… Eren’s “full on Founding Titan mode” would have been big anyway, because Ymir’s titan form was also fucking big, but because Gabi did her thing again, Eren’s head was not connected with the rest of his body, so the blue shining thing had to stretch itself and so the titan form ended up being so enormous.
