Listening Party: ROSÉ 'rosie' 1st Album

Comments

And a single song from jisso on the 14th of February

Dunia

Jennie maybe in mars

Dunia

youre right about the overall creative direction of the album being her vision. she is listed as executive producer of everything and owns all the masters and copyrights. i expected a high level of artistry just having been her fan for the longest time, but she still thoroughly surprised and impressed me with her musicality.

Rosie

I immediately thought of 1989 TS when I heard toxic till the end the first time so I'm glad you brought it up!! my favorite TS era as well so it feels like rose managed to create an even more developed version of that vibe

Grace Taylor

I really hope you will also check her vinyl bonus track 'vampirehollie' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq10Qd6eQxA&pp=ygUNdmFtcGlyZWhvbGxpZQ%3D%3D this has a good audio) I personally think it's hands down the best one on this album, so powerful and full of emotions and as well as 'number one girl' talks about negative comments by the audience

I was rushed to the ER during the holiday season and I heard several of the nurses humming APT as each of them was going on their tasks. Made my visit way more bearable.

winterkrash

when this album came out, my favorite song on this was stay a little longer. and the more i listen to the album, too bad for us is freaking amazing. this song living in my head rent free.

Jewi

Rose has always had my favorite voice and vibes in BP but tbh Blackpinks music has never been my thing and I've stuck to just a few title tracks but damn I loved all the covers and solos Rose had done in the past so I was hyped for her album and she did not disappoint! Despite my eternal singleness I love music like this and this album is probably my favorite from 2024

Audrey

Oooo thank you

Jet

HELL yeah!! Ya get it

Jet

Oh what! Thanks for letting me know

Jet

oh I love this album so much, Rose did such a good job on it, my favorite songs are probably 3am, drinks or coffee and gameboy, I mean they're all amazing but if I have to chose

Nettie

she delivered so so hard!! i’m so happy we got this from her. 2 years and call it the end killed me omg

Levi

god this album is just INCREDIBLE

Tobi

3am, gameboy & stay a little longer are soooo freaking good. Been spamming them like crazy for the past month

Tobi

rosé truly outdid herself with this album, and i'm calling it right now it'll go down as one of the greatest pop albums of all time. it definitely is her authenticity, vulnerability, and raw emotion that sets her apart from the rest of the girls and i love being able to experience this new side of her. she's always been a music prodigy. i hope you'll react to some of her solo interviews/variety and her performances! in her Apple Music interview with zane lowe she gives a track-by-track rundown, process and everything, and her zip daesung episode is alot of fun as well :)

I think you were referring to my comment on your Number One Girl reaction and yes she wrote the song as she was looking at hate comments on her insta one night & she hated the affect those comments had on her so much that she wrote this song. The other side to this song was the title being Number One Girl when she also called her solo fandon Number Ones so it's also a song dedicated to her most loyal fans in a way. I agree with you, the fact that the song can be interpreted in so many ways for each individual makes it even more deep and better.

Sascha

Your reaction really did the album justice, what a great watch & listen this was! My favourites are Too Bad For Us, Stay A Little Longer & Dance All Night if we're just speaking bsides without title track or pre releases. I can't tell you how special this entire album and the build up to this felt for me but I'll try anyways. Blackpink and Rosé have been the reasons I got into K-Pop and I never imagined how much of an impact they would have on my life when I first discovered them. I've been waiting for a solo album like this the whole 5 years and 3 months since I've become a Blink & Rosé bias. It feels extremely satisfying to see my favourite singer thrive like this ever since APT was released and even more so listening to these heartfelt and honest songs. She wanted to make this album as personal as possible so she could feel closer to her fans and I think she accomplished that just perfectly imo.

Sascha

Another thing to add that i haven't seen mentioned is Vampirehollie. It's a track that was exclusive to the physical edition. It's on youtube and a GREAT listen. Very much recommend !!

this album is a 10/10 pop album for me. it has everything i believe to be essential for a pop album to be considered a classic and i think that’s why you connect it to iconic albums like 1989 and Brand New Eyes. rosie really knocked it out of the park and every song scratches a specific itch in my brain

Fab Q

I loved her vocals throughout this album, bcus of her delivery rather than her tone, like you said. There’s something about singing lyrics that you yourself wrote, bcus you yourself know exactly the emotions that the lyrics are meant to deliver and i cried while listening to some of these songs because i could feel how personal they were to rose. I personally liked her solo debut with on the ground and gone, they felt personal but this album just takes that to another level. Her songwriting and singing is top tier.

Lilac Kaur

I re-watch that number one girl live unhealthy amount of times

Vish

Omg yes these performances are too good to be true

The only “critique” I have is how APT. is placed in this album. You know I love the song from the bottom of my heart, but I cannot help myself and I cannot deny it feels like: “We released intentionally viral pre-release and now we have to include it in the album somehow” I don’t know where I would place it either, because it is obvious this song was recorded way earlier than the rest of the album, which was recorded within the past year and all of that has sort of a connection between each other and they also have this “same theme”, whereas APT. was truly recorded regardless of any future album. So as much as love that song, it just does not fit the album as any other song here. But still… it is the best song from this album 😅😅 If I had to pick my the most favorite one besides APT. it would be number one girl or too bad for us. Regarding your statement about her YG releases. I agree with you on On The Ground, I started to appreciate the song after seeing it performed live on their concert. But when it comes to Gone, I would say it is really similar to her b-sides here. Obviously without the vision and story as they have here, but sonically I can imagine Gone being here as well…

WiseSmellyLegs

It was Teddy who made her keep the song actually, but yeah Bruno did have a lot of influence on the production of APT It's actually insane how we witnessed the raise of APT in real-time. I was in San Francisco airport two days after APT was released and there was a TSA agent who was apting LMAO

Vish

Please react to this!!!
