Do not misunderstand it though, QWER actually plays their instruments but you can't hear it much in this broadcast version. In the audience fancams, you can hear the live instruments better (But the MR is still pretty overwhelming) You can watch some of their festival stages where they 100% play their instruments and hear them making mistakes from time to time. I just don't like how this comment is worded that makes it seem like they don't actually know how to play their instruments.

QWER were a great opener for logistics reasons. That way they can setup in advance without downtime during the show. So many idols did challanges for it. It's cool too, the show this song was made for Oshi No Ko (A very good anime that delves into the the entertainment industry) was what inspire the group QWER to even be formed. Awesome that they performed at the same event!

It "sounds" too cute, and and ilyas sounds too nasal on this song. i just realised i never listened to "new" before I love their other songs. They are one of my favourite bands. So, Soyeon wrote, produced & even directed a few parts of the MV for My Name is Malguem for QWER as a gift, since QWER performed a Fate cover which also contributed to Fate's popularity that was slowly rising. Fate, the song they performed, is a bside from their album called 2, of which Superlady is the title track. Fate went super popular in S.K. purely on the audio (YT Music) and their live singing performance on Four Seasons. So they created a live audio clip for it on popular demand and even won music shows. It topped all charts and is literally one of the top streamed songs on Melon this year. They are performing different combination of songs from the album for the various award stages. I especially loved that they performed their pre-release Wife on KBS. I wish it had better Camerawork though. As for the context of this performance, Soyeon's individual contract was due to end in November which caused rumours about her leaving CUBE. They won the Record of the Year Daesang (Soyeon also won the Songwriter of the Year (her 2nd MMA Songwriter award)) and in their speech directly addressed the renewal. Soyeon specifically stressed that not just her but everybody is going to renew together. Personally, I think that its a nice call, mostly because the level of freedom they have at Cube is huge. They are able to make important calls about their music/album production and they are literally the cash-cow so Cube has to listen to their demands. At first, it felt like the discussions weren't really productive and there were signs that she may not renew and consider other companies, but they must have reached a nice enough deal. Lol sorry about the long comment. So much happened this year with GIDLE just thinking back.

2024-12-23 23:43:18 +0000 UTCyeah, a LOT of that was MR (most of it actually)....it's why I didnt like it as much as just watching a rock festival live performance or college music festival performance of qwer where they are playing live much more often (their tracks have A LOT of backtracks to begin with). I mean obvi, they were playing the instruments (I mean chodan was actually hitting the drums) but what you were hearing definitely wasn't what they were playing. It wasn't ALL MR but with these year end shows (and particularly that stage) it's just too difficult to even get everything set up fast enough with how back to back all the presentations and performances are.

It wasn't even the die hard fan complaining that their bias wasn't shown enough type bad.....it was literally not even having the member singing on screen while they were singing as well as just horrible wide shots and angles.

But like the queens that they are they announced their contract extensions at the same award show a few minutes after this performance while also winning record of the year.

You can check out the 1st episode to see whether you like it, although it's an hour long, which is never seen before in anime but it's definitely worth it to build the plot and backstory in the 1st episode

2024-12-23 15:37:10 +0000 UTCSo little fact here and this is hilarious but the whole reason QWER is a band is because of Yoasobi "Idol" is a ost for an anime call Oshi No Ko which is very much taking over Asian market so the egg guy had the idea he wanted to create his own band after Idol was going viral everywhere I kid you not the pre name for QWER was Oshi No Girls when he was recruiting members also QWER are also huge anime fans so them being in the presences of YOASOBI must be surreal to them part of there inspiration also came from another anime called Bucchi The Rock so you can see why they heavily sound like a J-Pop band

When they won the award Seoyeon of course mentioned the absent members (Yooyeon, Mayu, Soomin, Kotone, Jiwoo, Chaeyeon, Shion, Chaewon) and how they miss them. On the other hand, i love how Naky took Jiwoo's lines, and Seoah also took Mayu's lines, and of course if dad Yooyeon is not here, mom Seoyeon takes her lines. And yes MODHAUS please release this GND version!

2024-12-23 15:26:29 +0000 UTCThere were only 16 members for this performance (yooyeon, jiwoo, kotone, mayu, soomin, chaeyeon, chaewon, and Shion) were in japan for a fan event for Hachi. TripleS is the only group where having 16 people on stage still makes it feel incomplete (quite the feat) and it really should be absolutely NO surprise jiyeon is such an incredible on stage performer given the years she dedicated to ballet. Not to say ballet is harder compared to kpop dancing but it is definitely more disciplined, is not rushed, and WAY more intense compared to modern hip hop or kpop dance hagwans. My niece has done ballet since age 3 (she's 14 now) and it's a little freaky seeing what she's gone through honestly. Just watching the clips of jiyeon perform when she was younger she was definitely up there in skill level for ballet (probably not pro level but if it were compared to american basketball she'd definitely be a starter at a smaller Div I college team). I wouldn't be surprised if Jiyeon actually knows her body the BEST out of all the members and has the most grounded foundation in movement. It was just a matter of time to translate that training and internal know how to kpop dancing.

The first song they sang ‘Idol’ was really viral and there’s a whole compilation of K-pop idols dancing to it on TikTok: https://youtu.be/E87BtJE71NY?si=DbN42KXPZ6OXuk9y and Yoasobi performed Idol on a Japanese show with K-pop idols in the background on stage (seventeen, stray kids, new jeans etc) so people were joking that they had the most expensive background dancers ever I think you might have at least heard one of their songs in passing before, maybe this song of theirs called ‘racing into the night’, it was pretty big too: https://youtu.be/xtfXl7TZTac?si=BUnA6iiWdKbsDEu-, I heard it a lot in passing online before I even knew who Yoasobi was, so maybe you heard this song too? The girl in Yoasobi (Ikuta Lilas) actually collaborated with TXT for the Japanese ver of 0x1=lovesong which has the most beautiful and gut-wrenching music video since it’s also inspired by the movie ‘Your Name’
