Listening Party: ATEEZ 'GOLDEN HOUR Part .2' EP

Comments

still hoping for more Ateez reactions for this comeback 🥹

Exactly lol. He also said it was also inspired by Michael Jackson on a live and shared the demo track and it was clear as day. We see you Hongjoong 🌈

i’m so excited to see your opinions on this album!! it’s one of my favorites, if not one of my favorites from them

abigail!

That David Bowie inspiration is Bowie-ing hard with Selfish Waltz

Jet

Selfish Waltz instantly landed in my top five songs across their whole discography. But who is surprised - every song Hongjoong produces is phenomenal. I also love Deep Dive. For me this album was far more up my alley than Pt. 1. One thing I especially loved with Wooyoung and Yeosang’s vocals. Some of their strongest performances to date and they make the album for me. Yeosang’s soft falsetto in the prechorus leading into Wooyoung carrying the chorus of Selfish Waltz sends me to another astral plane lmao

ENOUGH has established itself to be one of my top favourite Ateez tracks EVERRR soooo goood

Tobi

I've gotten my two younger brothers into listening to kpop and both of them indepently reached out to me and told me that selfish waltz had become their new favorite kpop song after they listened to the album when it came out. The song is so freaking good. Personally I've been listening to more pop heavy songs so I've listened to Enough the most from the new album, but selfish waltz comes as a close second for me. I'm absolutely obsessed with this album, it's amazing. The golden hour era feels so different from everything that they've done so far, but I love to see them branch out with new types of music

Erica

I think my favorite was Enough because the lyrics really spoke to me. Selfish waltz was second because it’s sonically so good. Ice on My Teeth was third because I like the flow, but it sounds a little more barebones than Work and I personally like their sonically fuller songs better (if that makes sense). Deep Dive was fourth, and Man on Fire was fifth

Thank you for the reaction! I especiallt enjoyes the deep dive on Deep Dive! I agree lyrically Ateez songs just hit different and somehow they "package" these messages so well into their songs... What I love about songs like Deep Dive and Selfish Waltz in this album or even older songs like Take Me Home or Cyberpunk is how the lyrics are so deep and thought-provoking, yet the music feels so dynamic (?). It's such a unique balance that makes their songs stand out. I think this contrast between depth and sound is so uniquely done by Ateez...

Thanks for reacting!! I can't express how obsessed I am with Selfish Waltz.. i fear it became my favorite Ateez song or at least very close to it, so good. It's like Take Me Home, Silver Light, and Cyberpunk had a baby and I'm here for it.
