4RA Hotline - Call Now!

Hello Patreon family! As we announced on our Anniversary Episode, we are rolling out a toll free hotline as another channel through which you can reach us, and perhaps through which you can reach the whole Fourth Reich Archaeology dig crew. 

We’d be lousy lawyers if we didn’t give plenty of caveats and disclaimers about the use of the hotline, so please make sure you read to the end of this statement for all of that before calling the number.  Ultimately, the best way for all patrons to have free, fun, and safe use of the hotline is if we are completely transparent and everyone’s expectations are clear and aligned.

WHAT: The Hotline is a voicemail box you can call, leave a message, and tell us what is on your mind. Neither we nor anyone else will answer a phone at this number. Use it as a place to share feedback, anecdotes, or questions for your humble hosts. Sometime down the line we will put together Q&A type episodes featuring and responding to questions from the hotline. Maybe it will become a regular patron-only feature of the pod. Anything’s possible. The line will be open 24/7 for as long as we can afford to keep it open.

GUIDELINES/DISCLAIMERS: We are certain that a listening public as chill, smart, and kind as ours doesn’t need us spelling out guidelines for exercising basic decency, but it’s the internet and vigilance demands extra caution.

• First, we ask that you keep in mind the Fourth Reich Archaeology core values of love and friendship.  We want you to be honest, but please be respectful.

• Second, consider the hotline voicemail a “public square.” By leaving us a message, you are granting us a right to use your voice on our show. You are also releasing us from any legal or equitable claim arising out of or relating to the use of your voice on the show. That said, you don’t need to worry that we’ll manipulate or selectively misrepresent anything you say.

• Third, and relatedly, by leaving us a message, you consent to have whatever you say published.  So please, use your best judgment and please don't share anything you would not want publicly disclosed. 

• Fourth, while we will do our best to play as many of your messages as we can, we cannot promise that we will have the time or resources to play every message.  

PRIVACY: Your privacy is very important to us.  We know it is very important to you. We will not use, sell, or keep your phone number or any personally identifying information provided through Caller ID for any reason. If you don’t want to share your name on air, just don't say it or use a pseudonym. If you do give us your name, it’s fine to stick with just your first name. For voicemails that we use, we will keep only the audio file. We will delete everything else in our call log once a week.  

PATRONS-ONLY: Last point. The Hotline is meant to be an exclusive perk for our Patreon subscribers. You all have been faithful supporters, and many of you have been with us since the very beginning.  We want to hear from you first, we want to hear from you the most, and we want to give you all an opportunity to talk to us and, if you want, get some airtime on the pod. The only way we can do that is if everyone here plays it real cool about the phone number. So please keep the number confidential--for your eyes only, and strictly hush-hush.
