As you may have noticed from my occasional coy posts on the matter...I am planning to publish my fantasy novel, The God Key. (Woo!)
How to describe The God Key?
The God Key is Marvel and Black Mirror's literary problem child all grown up, desperate for a nap, and having relationship problems.
In other words - picture a gay "friends to lovers to enemies, re-united to be reluctant allies" dynamic, and then make it the dark anxiety-ridden heart of an urban fantasy novel that deconstructs what it means to be a super-hero.
Our heroes: Gabriel is a telepath obsessed with saving the world. Isaac strengthens the superpowers of anyone he touches, voluntarily or not.
Our villain: Morphina is a dreamweaver who can bring nightmares to life, hellbent on forcing everyone into a sleep that they don't wake up from anymore.
The mission? Stay awake long enough to save the world, and maybe get the boy. Clearly nothing can go wrong.
