making a differenc e at the indivdual level. two stories

Hello all. It has been a really hectic week relaunching the cult of pickle. To establish an on air- anime villain  - agents of chaos improv dm style to move past being words behind a screen, and after having closed a very difficult part of my life, I am in a very good position to begin offering tools to other creators from a Dm first, buisness-man second style approach

There have been lots of different ideas presented, and sometimes it can be difficult to wrap your head around these large scale plans. So now i want to talk about two people that were the original inspirations towards this total tonal relaunch of the Cult of Pickle. To respect their privacy i am omitting some more personal details, and trying to be as vague as possible when discussing anything potentially identifiable. To let them know they matter. And their voices have been heard.

A long time supporter who just wants to run games with her nephew This person is an individual who has supported me more or less from minute one and embraced the original content i was producing, and has not missed a month even when there have been huge lapses in content.  She reached out to me earlier in the year to talk about a very fun, high concept quirky allice in wonderland style game she was planning on running for her nephew., and was looking for a dust bunnie elemental back when a new set of elementals was in the pre-planning phase. We fell out of contact to personal stressors in my life, and when i had run a rather poorly thought out early on community event trying to bring together my content in a monster manual style document using patron prints, and was one of three people to send in her and her nephews paintjobs.  We have recently touched base and she was willing to share a snippet other personals experiences with stress and anxiety, and through our little talks here and there has expressed she is a little better, if only by a small amount for the moment.  

honestly, hearing her talk about running games with her nephew has made me interested in the concept of scaling down the tone of the creators couch to more tasteful fart and butt jokes to just hear a kid talk about some stuff they really love for a bit. I think it could be a very refreshing perspective, as i have seen lot's of 'dnd simplified' content for children over the past years on the r/dndhomebrew, and when running live events will be using these simplified systems so you don't need to know the rules, just roll the die look at the number, and the dickhead will tell you what's what, as a goo DM is wont to do. I think that we already have lots of mature content creators,

so I'd love to be  able to do stuff to help parents enjoy the game with their kids on a 1 on 1 setting now that they're stuck with them in the home without being able to catch a breather sometimes.
A snake enthusiast coming to terms with realising how stressful animals can be
She reached out to use expressing her love of Misses' pickle personal animal instagram page to share our noodles, and they have kind of officially became our groupops mascots, because everyone just loves them. Our garter snake, aspen, has a very wierd peiod where she will grow two layers of skin when in shed versus one, and shed twice within the span of about a week or two. usually she gets picky around this time, but going on a hungert strike for a bout a month was nerve wracking as we could slowly watch he becoming skinnier and skinnier by the day, and that is just an awful thing as a snake owner

and then she got out for 5 days, into our cold canadian basement.

and around this time, this woman entered our lives, and it has been amazingly helpful experience having another garter snake owner to talk to about not just the stresses of our lives, but the ejoyment animals can bring to us.

Both of these individuals have expressed that things have improves, if only slightly.

So if nothing else, this concept has already been a success. because through small initiative's here and there, we have already started making a small difference. here are a few more people on our server who we are trying to give out love to at the moment. but we need a break and will be setting up a thing to run the community stuff

A man pursuing arkham gameboards who has been experiencing a bit of creator burnout and found starting the project troublesome. i am now in the position where we have been exploring MMF terrain, and several other members on the community also working on boards who may be able to help. after our break, I'm setting up a small community - lets look at art on pinterst and organize it- sort of relaxation, art therapy day to help him both reengage with something he has not had the time to do, run a community event to help tie up loose ends to streamline the idea when he is prepared to start it back up, and really, looking at others people art as an artists is such an important thing we forget to do sometimes!

Our resident label holder recfently allowed me to sound board this eldritch horror livestream idea. TLDR; i pace around the room while we was trying to be seriius and talk. Played DJ jenga because i forgot a miniatures table and just stackedsome flat stuff ion top of his head and started him down. Went from talking about mental health to monke, back to the heavy thing to ambush hand releave tension as he seemed to be getting a lttle worked up going over his experiences, and sometimes its perfectly fine to just chimp for a hot second.

i wont say he made me deep throat a piece of drift wood on camera but............. yeah :p

our resident mental health expert who is a professor, has been an incredibly useful individual towards sounding out some of our more long term things, and start this relaunch from square one knowing its 100% an art movement and will not become anything more. he has invited me to sit down with his class, and i have already constructed a meta-narrative format screw using narrative and physicality to fuck with them. because that will be way more fun to interact with than sitting on a couch content. SCP the article is the think piece, not the content inside sort of stuff now that i have embraced the persona

we need another filthy frank. i have enough big dick energy to try to bring it back :)


and it has all be made possible, by treating this big dumb thing, as nothing but a large scale game i intent to run as a DM, and has required very little oversight, which is amazing.


over the past week i have immersed myself in so much new art forms and cultures, and heard so many different world views  in such a short span of time, it has been tiring. But if i want this concept to succeed, i am willing to show other artists we will front most of the work load. they just need an hour here or there to talk about things they love in a casual setting every couple of months to touch base with us :)
